Soundcheck: Goin’ Down Slow -> Jam

Set 1: Cars Trucks Buses, AC/DC Bag > Down with Disease, Bathtub Gin, Nellie Kane > Sample in a Jar, Back on the Train > Rift > Free, Ride Captain Ride > Maze, Halley’s Comet > 46 Days > Possum

Set 2: Sand -> Ghost > Piper > Twenty Years Later > The Lizards, Harry Hood

Encore: Character Zero

Performers: Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell, Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon

Notes: This show was officially webcast via LivePhish. After Harry Hood, Trey noted that it was the last set of tour, thanked eveyone for an “absolutely joyous summer,” then pantomimed crying and said “I don’t want to go home.” Page, Mike and Fishman then thanked the crowd as well. Finally, Trey added that “We’d also like to say, ‘fuck your face’.” The soundcheck Jam contained a Three Little Birds quote by Mike and a Don’t Worry Be Happy quote by Trey.

so…

how about that set 2?

or is everyone still speechless?

Set 2 = ITMFC! :smiling_imp:

Loved the second set, Thought Sand>Ghost>Piper was great. Not that the rest of the set was lacking by any means, just that the beginning really stood out.

I would say that Set 1 and Set 6 at Dicks were arguably the best sets of the summer. A lot of great music was made by the band this summer and I think it came to a head at these shows.

I rewatched the webcast last night.
First set is so-so overall. Good start w/ CTB and Bag. DWD doesn’t really do anything for me and from the vid Trey is distracted or something as he keeps looking over to his left, about 5-6 times, like he’s waiting for a cue from Mike or Fishman to end or someone else past them for a sound/monitor adjustment. I liked the Gin, Rift and Maze(Page was smokin’).
Then it’s like a different band came out for the second set. Great playing and flow all the way thru. Sand thru Piper is worth another listen or two. Loved the TYL placement w/ the lizard reference and then dropping The Lizards(my fave GH tune) followed by another gorgeous Hood. Top notch 2012 Phish. Worth the rewatch and the DL.

Hi I’m Beth ~ new to OKP

Sat in the club boxes next to Pei Yi (sp?), Dave and the rest of the crew at Dicks 2 & 3. Just wanted to drop in and say hello, and that we had a great time being show neighbors with you guys! It’s always so great to meet phans at shows who are happy, positive and so into the music, and you guys definitely are all three. Hope to see you at some shows next year! <3

Woohoo Beth!! Nice! You joined the Pa!!

Yea what a blast these string of shows are! Your happy and pleasant energy is so infectious and wonderful. Dave and I were both super excited to see you there the 3rd night, after meeting and grooving with you at Night 2!

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that those rumors about a 4-yr Labor Day Weekend run at Denver is true! It’s my favorite ‘away’ Phish weekend venue, for sure!

Definitely can’t wait to see you again at more great concerts <3 <3

SandGhostPiper= THE FIRE!!! Whole second set really did it for me. Love Twenty Years Later. First set was not my ideal set of Phish. Couple songs had me cringing a bit (Free, RCR) but still pretty seck…

Great crew assembly Page Side for this show…WOW!

Dude man, that was great. I wanna go back.

Say what you will, that Sand > Ghost > Piper is just amazing Phish being amazing.

sunday was pretty legit after the previous two nights, I haven’t listened back to any of it yet

they finally played it kinda safe with the first set, but it was still aight and energetic enough. ride captain ride was a huge fail tho structurally, cripes. oh well

I’m psyched for lizards and the end of that songs is one of my favorite moments ever but it felt quirky and botched to me.

sand->ghost will be another jam to listen to for the fall so that’s cool. the extended sand outro was gnarly.

I’mma go ahead and give a shout out to this Sand right here.
