Haven’t heard it but I LOVE this setlist.

I had a great time but I’m sad I didn’t get to see any OKPers, but you may have seen me walking around with a picture of my friend’s face glued to a stick. That was Flat Chris! He couldn’t come so we brought him in spirit.

first set highlights: Really dug Trey’s solo in Moma. Wasn’t too crazy or anything but I thought it was purposeful, interesting, and melodic. KDF had a rippppping jam. Timber had a really intense jam too, and I don’t know if I’ve heard one that peaked that card. Halfway to the Moon was too great for me. I’ve really wanted to catch one, and speaking of Page I loved his solo during Maze.

second set highlights: All of Crosseyed. Segue between Light and Golden Age was cool, and GA was played at a much slower tempo. It was interesting. I thought Birds really ripped also. Heavy Things had a Page solo on the organ where Trey usually solos. Definitely worth checking out!

YEM. YEM YEM! YEM was great as usual but during the ambient section there was this image ----> http://postimg.org/image/nbg5xbyj9/. These are lighters, not cell phones. I’m only 22 so I’ve never really been to a show where people did that, and I know it’s trite now but I don’t think you’ve seen that during the ambiance of YEM. It started out as one or two lighters then grew and grew to more and more lighters until I was just totally verklempft. First Tube was another amazing moment too, and when the band hit the second peak the woman behind me jumped out of her seat, threw her hands in the air shouting YEAH! YEAH! YEAH! and this was just terrific. She was high-fiving people after the show and I just love that spirit.

^ you are welcome, us old school cats are trying to help bring the lighters back!

What can I say, I walked out a bit disappointed. I had a blast during the first set. Loved the setlist and the fire they were breathing. Maze blew the roof off the place. The C&P started the second set off nicely and then the rest of the show just didn’t work for me. I thought they were going to ride the weirdness of the segue into and off-tempo/rhythm Golden Age for the rest of the set but it didn’t happen. Some good solos throughout the set but it just seemed like nothing really happened. Even the jam in YEM seemed a bit phoned in. I’m not being, the jaded vet here. I’m sure others enjoyed it much more than me, which is cool. It’s an occupational hazard of seeing as many shows as I’ve seen so I don’t bother about it.

^^I hear that, I’ve seen too much Phish … I was just saying it the other day. I’ve listened me to so much Phish that it’s hard to find a place in my brain to put it when I hear EVEN MORE Phish.

Sounds like slowing down GA is a good move, it sounded too fast to perform well when I saw it last.

I can see how some may not love Bug, Heavy Things, and Joy to be the last 3/5 songs played in a show.

I caught myself cheesin’ so hard during the first set, and I shit you not, the smile didn’t leave my face until I left Worcester. So much fun this fall!

I smiled throughout most of this show as well. I’m always more smiley at my first show of a tour. But this show deserved it because it was a fun, mostly high energy, rockin time. For me personally, this show was a great one to see first because it had a lot of songs, many uptempo, crowdpleasers, and they weren’t as jammed out or taken anywhere crazy. Had I seen this at the end of going to a series of shows, I would likely have enjoyed it less. Except for the fact they played Timber…that will always make a show grand!

Scent of a Mule was off. Especially after Fishman’s extended solo. I did enjoy the Page solo at the end of Heavy Things that Drew mentioned. I feel like Page is finally getting the spotlight, and volume level, he deserves after 30 years…a general Phish Thought I included here while I was thinking of it.

And here is another…My friend Bill and I joked because a girl next to him said “I hope they do the Japanese lyrics!” when Meatstick started and we agreed that we are pretty sure they have never NOT done them since they first started doing them. It is still noted on the setlist though. Haven’t the Japanese lyrics become a standard part of the performance since they were first incorporated?
