Set 2: Rock and Roll > Seven Below > Alaska > Twist[1], Wading in the Velvet Sea > Harry Hood > Chalk Dust Torture

Encore: While My Guitar Gently Weeps

[1] Mike on power drill.

My kind of show. Twist jam was sick. Back in the USSR should be played more often, especially as an opener.

Undermind was cut short and Wading was poorly placed, but great show otherwise.

Fuck yeah. This show made the trip worth while after being a bit disappointed in Rochester. I loved the drive up there through the hills during the fall colors and the town was cool too. Didn’t hang out there much but just seemed to be good vibes everywhere beforehand.

I loved the venue. Found a nice roomy spot straight back from the stage in one of the middle rows up about 15 min before the show started. I really appreciated the White Album nod to open the show and the crowd did too. The whole first set was very crisp and I loved the song selection and placement. A lot of really good, albeit short, jams and grooves. Was happy as always to get my Bowie. Was excited at first to hear Yarmouth Road, but I think they could cut the last chorus out at the end after the guitar solo…it starts to drag on. Anyway, I don’t think the SOAM came across on recording as well as it did live. I listened to the show on my way home yesterday. The combination of the extreme volume, the dark arena, and the crazy lights made it total mindfuckery. When I listened in the car it just sounded weird.

The second set was awesome. All of the jams were super tight and adventurous, with Twist being the definite highlight. Good fucking shit in there. Something a bit more raucous between Twist and Velvet Sea would’ve been a bit more appropriate, but I was glad at the time to get a chance to take a load off for a few. I also enjoyed the tune for once for some reason. The Hood and the Chalkdust to wrap up the set were top notch. I was pretty sure the set was over after Hood so those chords really got the place going.
