*First time played (Jimmy Smith (jazz organist) cover); had been played at soundcheck(s) in the past. **Preceded by Trey talking about how this was the first song they played together as a band. Contained a lot of “woo”-ing from Trey. At Trey’s suggestion, they began to play it again, but shortly aborted the reprise and went into “Antelope.” ^Produced a jam that segued into “Tweezer.” ^^With “Manteca” teases; also included a Delay Loop Jam. #A capella.

Wow, what a gem. The second set is the filler on the 98 Halloween release. Some really amazing stuff. Stash goes about 9 minutes before segueing effortlessly into a lighter than usual Manteca. In typical form, Trey laughs through the ridiculous lyrics and pushes into a brief jam on the theme. The tweezer theme gets layered over the top. Fish pulls back and then builds into the Tweezer intro. Some spacey 98 style jamming on this one, and some Manteca teases resurface. About 16 minutes total. This morphs into the rhythmic chops of NICU, and eventually all four members follow suit. Very impressive segue… huge audience response. NICU is followed by some weird Mike and Fish beats and some ambient sounds. Eventually it leads into a graceful Caspian intro. They take their time with this and it fits perfectly. A really great string of songs… If you haven’t heard it, you are missing out.

I like the first set too.

That jam out of “NICU” sounds eerily similar to the one out of “Horn” on 7-15-98.

:wtf:

But I loves them both.

same year
same jam
sounds right

I was there down front. Fuckin AWESOME!!

Yeah awesome show right here…not a dull moment IMO.
