Great show!!

This was my 11th show…It was cold but the Lots were crazy…Inside, no alcohol…People were pissed…I was faced beyond recognition…Paul and Silas had me jumping up and down (i love that tune) but the Piper in the 2nd Set is where the money is at…

My buddy fell down the stairs during Velvet and laid there throughout Antelope…People thought he was dead…

^HAHAHA! That was a great show. No booze…got in a bottle of Vodka I think though. Everyone was was swigging hard stuff so it was even more boozed up then normal it seemed…but the music…awesome, and ultimately, that’s the memory of that show that has been with me.

This is my least favorite of these three shows, but there are still some good nuggets in here. The Piper is indeed the proverbial shiz, but I think the Stash is the highlight for me. Mike is totally driving the bus for most of the jam and of course does a smashing job, but then just before they bring the song to its peak there is such a delicate passing of the baton to Trey that it just really speaks to how locked in these guys can be with each other. It’s quite brilliant, and really was the hallmark of their 1998 style: Mike would drive the bus into some super chunky textured jams, then hand it off to Trey who would wind up the tension with that guit-fiddle of his. Well done Phish.
