This show is pretty damn good. The band has a lot of energy. The setlist for the first set isn’t anything ground breaking by any means, but the Divided Sky rages, they begin to take Caspian a little further out there and the guitar work in Taste just soars. I like listening to these tunes as they were fresh and new because the band seems to push what they can do with them and try new things.

The second set is a lot of fun and was a half-assed attempt to pull of something like the “S” set in CO last summer. The Makisupa features a nice Page clav breakdown and the Maze rages. McGrupp is always a treat and this Melt is just weird (the good kind of weird). I LOVE TMWSIY->Avenu and this Mike’s is sick. The Mean Mr. Mustard thing is pretty cool and John Popper is okay. My biggest gripe about his appearance is the fact that his harmonica was not mixed well during Weekapaug and it just blew out the rest of the band. To me it’s a little hard to listen to but oh well. It’s a little better for the Funky Bitch encore though.
