Trey should let Page take charge like this more often. And Trey should wear that shirt more. @ one of the youtube comments on this video: “They filed charges against Page for the beating he layed down on that piano…wow.” I agree.

I was at this show… I remember a horrible blizzard on the way to the show there were cars all over the ditch. This was my 2nd phish show…

I’m a big fan of this show. I had it back in the day on cassette but it was shitty quality so I never listened to it much. I think the first set is pretty good. A nice early DWD and Guyute (before Guyute got played out) and an awesome mid-first-set Bowie. Any set with Bowie in it has to be good, but that’s just me.

This second set is awesome. La Grange out of fucking nowhere to open the set, followed by an AWESOME Jim. Then a good deal of Phishy quirkiness featuring the Vibration of Life, Kung and Catapult. Then a bunch of random “Leigh Fordham” jabs during the Axilla outro. This Hood is positively gorgeous. This whole bit about Page stepping up more is why I’m growing to really love Fall '96 shows and one of the main reasons I think they’re underrated. He takes a much more prominent role in a lot of the Hood/Bowie/Reba-esque jams during this tour and it is great. I was listening to this Hood in the lab and I couldn’t help but jump up and down a little bit during the jam. There was prob a fist-pump in there somewhere too.

I needed a pick-me-up this afternoon. Went through the tunes, saw 11-16 and said, yup, this Hood’ll do it!

Within seconds of completion, my day was saved. Thank You, 11-16-98 Harry Hood.
