*Before they started the set, the crowd chanted the beginning of “Destiny Unbound” (in hopes that the band would play it). Trey acknowledged the chant by saying that he couldn’t hear what was being sung; that it sounded like some kind of “death chant”; and asked if this was the point in the show where they do the human sacrifice. No “Destiny Unbound” was played or teased. **With “Mike-O-Esquandolas” (instead of “Marco”).

Possibly my favorite show ever.

A fatty boom batty show to be sure.

agreed.

This show was my introduction to the Fall 97 Phish. At the time I thought this was the greatest show ever… but it may not even be the best show of that tour! This is one show that I cannot listen to songs individually from, I have to listen to the full set. It really is that good.

Its pretty pointless to name highlights as literally the entire show is a highlight. I assume most have heard this show as it is teh tits and generally regarded as such. If you haven’t do yourself a favor and listen to this one.

Just listened to this show for the first time all the way through a few days ago (I have had a copy of the show for awhile but the quality of it was shitake and made it very difficult to listen to).

Mike’s through Hood is epic. I couldn’t imagine what it would have been like to be there. The boys came out swinging like they were playing a second set, in terms of pushing the jams. The way they were playing feels different from what else they were doing that tour. It was still funky, but the places the jams went seemed to be infused with that “electric” energy that was common throughout the 95-96 period.

Second set really needs no explanation.

This show is going to be a mainstay in my rotation.

BTW - If anyone has any good sources, let me know, because I need an upgrade BADLY.

The Sobel FOB Schoeps is where it is at. We could set up a b&p.

OR

You could just come to Deer Creek and give it to me in person.

: )

The point being… I don’t have, or use, CDs anymore.

Ya hear that Barry? Yer where it’s at!

An FOB guy once shushed me. Directly into his mics I yelled “something wrong with yo lips motherfucker?”

Well pin a rose on your nose!

i got the tapes of this if you want em. recently acquired!

Mmmmm, SBD’s…

I’m not going to comment of the epicness of this show.

But I will say that I actually just listened to the official SBD release for the first time and I like my AUD’s better. They just seem to capture the energy and the “Hampton boom” that Mike and Fish’s kick throw out so much better.
