My dad drove me to this show.
I bought some gnarly purple patchwork pants with wool lining.
Worst decision ever.
Took a few gulps of hot Jager in the parking lot and some chick let me puff her joint in the show.
Called the Loving Cup and it was amazing.
B.E.K. wasn’t too shabby either

a whole bunch of us drove down in a couple cars from detroit. it was a cold but clear day on the way down.
remember how much snow fell during the show? the streets were basically clear going in, and came out to at least 4 inch snowfall!
i know the 2nd set isn’t very “prototypical” and pretty strangely composed, but the 1st set is really nice… not a great show but i’ve seen it called “terrible” which just isn’t true.
In comparison to the rest of the Fall 97 show I can see how it could be called ‘terrible’, but I really think that’s a bit harsh. I had to sell my ticket to Brett because I was already missing one hockey game to go to the Palace show the following night and I couldn’t miss both games, but I still wish I went to the show despite the bad reviews. The first set is better than the second IMO…the Ghost, while tame compared to other 97 versions, is a great opener and I think the improvisational highlight of the night comes in the Runaway Jim->My Friend segment. I’m most sore about missing my only chance to catch a BEK, but in the end if I had to choose between this show and the next night…well…you know…
