Okay, so probably my first or second favorite show ever attended.

Everything was better back then, even the lights. Less Kuroda = more powerful sometimes, the lights were almost over powering this year. They were seck, don’t get me wrong, but at some points they can take over the show.

I was at this show with one of my oldest and best friends Doug, a.k.a. Nugless Dougless, a.k.a. rmp4life so you all say hi to him on here when you see him

This show is the bees knees.

This show is the best thing to ever happen in that building! Go Bulls!

This show is amazing. Second set is FIRE!

Top 5 Tweezer, IMO

Just mind boggling stuff. Top 10 Tweezer, my favorite Antelope (2nd song too!!) and Twist, Piper, and Gin TABOOT TABOOT. perhaps my favorite show. definitely up there.

giggity

Today in Phishtory!

Fantastic. I was gonna post a video, but Smokey already did so up there^!

I think this second set is tied with 8/17/97 as the best set of Phish I’ve ever seen. The Tweezabella is just pure fucking hose

some of the best flow in ANY phish show. EVER.

Being released by live phish on next Tuesday…

phish.com/#/news/2012/19/12697-a … -dry-goods

his Tuesday, September 25, Phish will release “December 6, 1997, The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills MI” as the next remastered show to join the ongoing LivePhish Archives collection. The show will be available as a download at LivePhish.com and as a 2-CD LivePhish Limited set exclusively from Phish Dry Goods. The release was created from Paul Languedoc’s DAT stereo soundboard mix remastered by Fred Kevorkian and contains 16 songs totaling two and a half hours of music.

Phish’s third show at The Palace on December 6, 1997 was yet another defining fall '97 gig, with an under-recognized set I and a renowned set II that must be heard in one sitting, preferably loud with headphones.

Set I highlights include an intense second-song Run Like An Antelope, alien landscapes of Train Song and seamless pairings of Bathtub Gin > Foam and Fee > Maze. Set II was a unified, non-stop affair: Tweezer > Izabella > Twist > Piper > Sleeping Monkey > Tweezer Reprise. As they rounded the bend into the final week of this storied fall tour, the band had a confident swagger that exploded in The Palace with a flood of combined energy that flows through on the tapes. The Palace is deep in the suburbs but this Saturday night show in the home of The Pistons was a slam dunk that reverberated throughout Detroit Rock City and beyond.

I knew this one was getting the treatment. Looking forward to it.

The Ear Erection has commenced…

Let you know what I think once this mofo is done melting my face off

First set Highlights:

Gin>Foam

Amazing

Taking a breather before starting the Tweez

Done, and must say the second set is fantastic. The Tweeabella is incredible. Pretty much it should be Tweezer>Izzy>Tweez>Twist>Piper>Bella… Great show and I’m glad I got to hear it in the best quality outside of being at the show

holy fucking shit…Maze is such an amazing song, and this one is particularly nasty

Quite possibly still my all-time favorite.

Maybe second best.

Or possibly third.

But definitely one of those numbers!!

The Gin->Foam and the dirtttttyyy filthy Maze are my 1st set highlights here. Antelope is… :eh:  . I don’t think I really like listening to it in a way that I like listening to other Antelopes. If I listen to it, it’s because I want to hear this Antelope specifically, rather than any Antelope. The mellow, funky, wah-jam that begins it is pretty cool and unique though.

Although I think the second set has some amazing flow and the Izabella jam is some of the funkiest Phish out there, I think most of this Tweezer is kind of boring. Not saying it isn’t good, because I think I would’ve really dug it if I were there dancing to it, but I like some other Tweezers and some other dark, funky, and sludgy jams much more than this Tweezer. This show would’ve been a blast to attend though. Overall, the funk is there, the deep space exploration, unexpected twists and turns, shredding, high energy, mellow serene parts, and some edgy darkness. Standing alone, the Tweezer doesn’t do much for me.

In other words, I think the recording of the music played in this Tweezer is overhyped. The band sounds like they were partying hard that night.
