Nice bust-out with She Caught the Katy.

I like the looks of that second set as well.
Especially the Back on the Train -> LxL > Wedge > Frankie Says

I love this hood. they are finally taking it to tasty tasty places

Here’s the discussion from the setlist thread:

Treys voice sounds shot to hell. Hopefully it will recover in the next day or at least get better :problem:

yea it got shot by wolfman’s or so

Mike almost sounds like he was teasing the landlady in hood.

Stash is the highlight I think.

Hood goes to places I’ve never heard it go before, but again fails to peak quite as high as a great Hood will.

Well…finally just got home. 12 hours for a 2 1/2 hour flight. Last night’s show, I’ll be honest, was one of those Phish shows I LOVE on the first night of a two night run—this being the second one in two nights! :astonished: I was looking for a bit more FUNK and a bit more of an explosive Trey before the day off. His voice was shot…he played it very safe in that respect.

Rift was sloppy. Fishman was behind just about the whole song (also was on Wedge). Great Wolfman’s. BDTNL–very solid, absolutely love that tune live. Birdwatcher to end the first set–ouch!!! I thought for sure we were going to get an Antelope right after it, but nope. Hood was the absolute highlight.

Had a great two days with my OKPals–I survived my first Nor’easter!

Are you saying that you thought it was botched or that you just don’t dig the tune?

It was awesome hanging with you in Worcester!

I thought the Birdwatcher was awesome… I wish I would have been there to see it!!!

yep. i loved the interplay and direction that jam went for a while but then they brought back the theme and jumped right into the outro lyrics… no climax at all, it was a fizzle ending. i don’t understand why trey doesn’t just take charge once they bring the theme back and just shred the ending like we know he can. frustrating, especially considering the first part of the jam is really on point

Minor gave this Hood a “best ever” rating, but I agree with the above. It’s well worth a listen for sure; there is some cool interplay at the beginning of the jam section, but it ends with pretty low energy.

Didn’t they play Alaska at a show when Palin was simultaneously in that town recently?

I wanna say it was either Charlottesville or Charleston.

I was there and remember it being fucking hilarious.

You too man!! I love “Birdwatcher”. The placement just sucked, imo. Still a great show…that Hood was worth coming in itself.

Wow Wolfman’s is ridiculous! Trey annihilates the end, and things go to a new level when Page starts hammering his piano. I keep rewinding it to 5:10. It’s really nothing that jaw dropping, but Trey and Page come to together precisely at the right time to sustain a note together. They really compliment each other throughout. Of course Mike’s delivering the goods here too.

Stash is definitely fierce.

At around the 8:30 mark in Stash the band is heavily touching on another song, but I can’t pinpoint which one, any help?

I’m downloading from Phishows.com right now in order to help. It’s slow though. I could probably find out faster by going to the car & getting my sbd download, but meh. Too cold out. So like, hang in there & I’ll be along shortly with some speculation.

I think the song you’re hearing is Frankie Says. Page definitely hints at it.
