Looks like a good night one!

Pa Rum Pa Pum Pum

Set 2 was outstanding.

Set 1 was a nice little warmup but damn, I was not expecting such a large second set on night 1.

Gonna be a good run! Wait…it’s ALREADY a good run!

I’ve listened 2wice. Some very beautiful music last night. Tweezer I particular. Think I’m hearing a Thunderhead jam but it could just be a similar melody. Very pretty.

We were debating last night whether or not there were Good Times Bad Times teases/phrases towards the end of “Twist”

anybody else hear that?

i dont know about that but i do know that was the best gtbt i ever heard, just unexpected explosion in the middle of it took it up several notches. really great 2nd set, too. the wolfmans was really sweet as well to close 1st set, they seemed patient, relaxed, and into a little exploration. they never quite went into the zone in any of their jams (very close in the mlb like section), but they made some great music, again, particularly 2nd set with nods to gtbt and wmb

judging by the song choices in night 1, i suspect some sort of special event to happen at some point in this run. i hope everyone in ny is having a great time. i feel bad for the kids downstairs at bisco who are going to be so close, yet so far away from this run, it is off with a nice little bang

Amazing 2nd set last nite…

Last time Maze and Bowie were in the same 2nd Set was 05/06/1994…

This is a good show to start a 4-night run after three months off. The first set is not as rusty as one might expect, but it does still have a bit of ‘warm-up’ feeling to it. Especially in the Stash. I think Stealing Time is a great opener for the run though and a good song selection. But, the Wolfman’s to end the set ends up being pretty radical. There is a lot of energy and tension and release work going on in there.

The second set Tweezer opener is fantastic. It kind of meanders around at first until they lock into a groove and stick with it. A lot of really really pretty baby grand work from Page is the highlight of this jam for me. I love Maze coming out of the spacey end of the jam. The Twist>Theme>Fluffhead segment of the set is okay…nothing too crazy though there is a brief period where Mike is dropping some serious bombs in Twist. I can’t think of a better set closer than Bowie for me personally and it caps off what is overall a great second set.

And the GTBT is fiya!

I still think set 2 of this show was one of the top 3 sets of the run, along with sets 2 and 1 from NYE, respectively.

Just went back and watched this show for the first time since probably than and totally forgot about The Little Drummer Boy during the jam and legit got goosebumps from that jam especially since my 5 year old son pointed it out to me with mass excitement that Pa rum pa pum pum was on.
