ENCORE: Good Times Bad Times

This show was webcast via Live Phish. Lonesome Cowboy Bill was played for the first time since July 1, 2012 (177 shows). Corinna was played for the first time since August 8, 2012 (170 shows). The Tweezer Reprise Jam’s lyrics were changed to “Your trip is short.”

Really picking up right where they left things off in Vegas. Really laid back first set, though the Caspian, Roggae, Funky Bitch, and HttM all had a little extra mustard.

Things really heat up in the second set. Wolfman’s went straight into the dank funk and kept at it for a solid 9 minutes. Golden Age revisited many themes from the Vegas version, top shelf version that doesn’t quite touch the Vegas one for me at least. Excellent -> Simple too. Speaking of the Simple, it was short but sweet, never truly launching off. In the box CDT was a bit disappointing, but that mild disappointment didn’t last long as the Martian Monster picked up some nasty funk from the Wolfman’s and kept going with it, as the song was being deconstructing they hit on an ascending riff that sounded an awful lot like Tweeprise. Then they went into Tweeprise. Totally nuts, would have loved to be there for the pure energy erupting when this went down. Wingsuit had a nice solo from Trey and served as a nice landing pad. Raging Possum to end the set. GTBT just the icing on the cake.

Excellent start to the run. Looks like the 2 months off didn’t leave any rust. On to the next 3 nights!
