You Enjoy Manteca!!! I didn’t get to catch the third set, but the way that second set ended was unreal. Must have been fucking retarded in there.

That Meatstick was one hell of an experience. Glad I got to watch from my computer chair. What a fantastic show!

Does anyone else hear DWD>Ghost>DWD>Ghost? There is absolutely a DWD jam squeezed into that killer Ghost! So much fun!

this screen shot captures it I think

Ghost is well done. Slightly rough around edges at the end, but the concept and interplay is great. Probably the musical highlight of the show. Although the meatstick is very cool as well. I haven’t gotten a chance to see any video yet, but they really put some thought into the arrangement for the chorus. This is one of those cases where the word “epic” fits the sound. They should incorporate some of the changes into the structure of the vocals.

Nope

Im still in awe of what I saw on this nite…

Best seats ever, saw Fish drum all of NYE directly behind him in 220… :astonished:

My seat was in section 121 fish side-amazing seat to go along with one of the most amazing experiences of my life! Great playing with a variety of well selected songs and theatrics taboot!

SUCH AN AMAZING SHOW! Snuck into the 200s right across from the stage. Called the PYITE opener, which started off a hell of a show. Second set was on fire, YEManteca was money. The Meatstick Extravaganza was soooooooo epic. I was standing there with my jaw open just watching it all. The dancers, the giant hotdog, the band throwing hotdogs and then the giant meat balloons were insane. I’m pretty sure the meatstick chorus will be stuck in my head for another week, it just kept on going, WOOOOOAHH SHOCKS MY BRAIN.

set 2 is no joke.

Meatstick > ALS is unreal.

just…wow.

It’s all about the second set…what a night!!!

Wilson to After Midnight is just embedded in my brain. What a night!!!

^ I had Meatstick in my head for hours and hours that night.

The first set was very fun, even though I lost $5 due to the Punch opener, but that didn’t make it any less awesome. Great to see Weigh and Beauty of My Dreams. I am officially a fan of Ocelot. I thought it had begun to hit its stride this summer, and I enjoyed this was a well played version, especially Trey’s ALS quote, which was played very naturally with the rest of his phrasing. The Rock and Roll jam was ferocious. I’m glad they mixed up the placement and closed with it.

Two arena rockers, Wilson>46 Days, got everyone charged up for this monster set. Sand was groovable, and Page laid down a nice theme for a while, and NICU with the ALS tease was fun. The following mid-set DWD rocked into ambiance, from which Ghost emerged. I don’t want to gush, but this Ghost might have been the highlight of my short Phish career. Jubilant, hooked up, and thematic, this thing took me to the happiest place on earth. I never wanted it to end. Yet, I did think to myself, this would be bad ass if they brought it back to Ghost proper, and 10 seconds later they did. I could have gone home after Ghost, but luckily I didn’t, because they started up my first YEM, with a Manteca taboot. The bass and drums/manteca breakdown was SICK. I love watching Trey dance to Gordo and Fish, and I was close enough to see his grin was as wide as mine.

Thats a nice first YEM! I’ve always been told I dance like Trey, so I enjoy watching him groove to Gordon at the end of the song.

^^ drew, you are completely right about everything but one… the ghost came after DWD, but it was never before it… you’re probably thinking of Sand. right before the ghost drop, during the ambient part, trey riffed on something similar to ghost and the rest of the band did too for a split second (although i still have yet to re-listen intently)… i said “back to sand!!” and freaked out for a split second, then the intro to ghost oozed in and the place went berkerer!!

AHHHH!!! will review show later, need sleep at the moment. What a week!!!

Awesome night. Awesome seats. Trey threw me a meatstick. That’s all I got for now. Here’s a few pics from our seats, which were the best in the house. I’ll post more later when I have time.

god, I need to see Phish again…and soon

If I said it once I’ll say it 1000 times. This Ghost was the jam I’ve been searching for over the past 2 years following this band around the country. My eyes well up every time I listen to it. :astonished:  :exclamation:
