I just got back from the store, listening to PYITE now. Holy shit. I was wrong about thinking the AUD version I had was good enough, this is AMAZING.
I went to Best Buy, they had none in the Phish section. Heartbroken I was. I picked up a DVD for my father, and a couple of CDs for my mother, and then I see it. A stack of 6 next to one of the employee computers. I grab it and run to the cashier with a big smile on my face.

i just tried convincing my mom to give it to me before christmas but no dice on that one…i will have to wait but it will be well worth it…i will be jammin it out loud on the way to lambeau field for da bears game on christmas day…
My wife suprised me with it on my lunch break, I am in the middle of Col. Forbin’s right now. This is definitely putting my AUD copy to shame right now.

I would always go with the store bought. Maybe it is just me, I like to hold it in my hands, look at the tracklist on the back, read the booklet, look at the pictures.

Let me first say that the only thing that got me through this awful day, was knowing that after work I would be able to get NYE '95. The transit strike in NYC today really screwed my day up…walking 40 blocks to work…damn that sucked!!! But I just got the disk and it is great…awesome sound, great packaging, liner notes…the whole thing!!! Just got through the first 3 songs and I know it’s gonna get better and better…well worth the awful day that was today haha
Just started disc three. Disc two is great! Drownd -> Lizards is perfect. Very nice and lengthy Runaway Jim. Hello My Baby on the mics so we can actually hear it, unlike Amazing Grace on the Bomb Factory release. And the Mike’s Song… Everyone should hear this.
Currently in the Gamehendge Time Factory… spacey stuff, oh wait. Now Auld Lang Syne, just Trey. By himself. Now the entire band comes in. Time for the GROOVE.

Well, just finished it. According to my first post, 3 hours and 15 minutes, or thereabouts.
Third set thoughts: AuldPaug>SeaSand. GREAT! A very very well played YEM. I would compare it to the A Live One version, where it is just perfect sounding all the way through, even the vocal jam kept my attention. Sanity, may be my favorite version of the song. Very dark and hard. Same with Frankenstein. Johnny B. Goode may have been the perfect encore. It wasn’t a bust like a Phish encore can be, and it wasn’t mind blowing. It was perfect however.
Overall thoughts: My favorite Live Phish release. Between the fact that it SOUNDS great, it IS one of the best shows I have ever heard. I really don’t know what else to say. If you are reading this, and don’t have a copy (or getting a copy in the near future), you HAVE to get this. You will not be dissapointed one bit.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, i cant wait till christmas. i told my mom that this is really the only thing i wanted to christmas…now i wish i hadn’t told her so i could have bought it today. well, patience is a virtue. it will just make christmas day all the better
