I haven’t listened to mine yet, but my 'rents managed to get the last copy from Circuit City for me for Christmas. It’s like I’m delaying listening to it because it’ll be better the more time I wait! Like an orgasm, really.
GREG YOU HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH!!! now is the time
I AM NOW A GOD. props to the oh kee pa ;D
God I love this show. I mean I had an AUD of it for awhile, but it’s just sooo much better on soundboard. I love the packaging and booklet, too, it reminds me of A Live One’s packaging (which I still flip through every so often because I love the pics). Too bad they still don’t go by fan notation for the tracklisting: I will be happier in an anal retentive way when I see >'s AND ->'s on official releases.
: Phish New Year’s Eve 1995. It’s a good thing.

Shit, I thought I was the only one!
The Phish Companion got me spoiled on the way setlists are written out. I LOVE the way that > means just an average/common transition, and the -> means an exploratory/improvised transition. Phish, are you listening???
Nice… got it for Christmas yesterday… you can guess what I’m going to do all of today… that’s right, all day.
Good lord this Jim Smokes.
There is not a bad or even averagely played song in this whole concert. I mean usually when people say a show is hot stuff I listen to it and I’m like “yeah ok this part is good but then this part kind of drags…” but fuck if NYE95 isn’t one of their best shows just like people kept saying.
: It is eleventy billion times better on soundboard.
you know, I didn’t get this for Xmas but I did get a Barnes and Noble gift card, so I should have it by the end of the week. I have not heard this show in its entirety, but I HAVE heard some of the major jams. Not SBD though. I can only imagine how clean and crisp it is!
not entirely true, trey messes up the composed parts of reba a bit and a good amount coil.
^ But the Reba jam is the shininknihuit! Completely makes up for the tiny flubs…
^this is true
Huh I didn’t notice any obvious flubs, but I don’t intently listen to the composed sections most of the time.
Yeah, there are some major flubs. It really made me appreciate Page in those sections a lot more.
is there some sort of cut in the master around the 18 something minute mark in YEM or is it just me?
i am really drunk…maybe i’m hearing things but the music cuts…and then seems to fade back in…right before the vocal jam…
someone give it a listen and tell me i’m not insane…or that i am…one of the three…
i finally got it today ons ale for 29.99 canadian!!!
definite flubs in the part where trey and page kind of duel…trey just loses his place put page lays it down to make it sound good…but an awesome jam and still a great reba…i am lovin these discs!!
Yeah, trey is horribly off when they play that section the first time. he’s behind, hitting wrong notes, etc. when it’s repeated, trey comes in late, and they have this sort of “rounds” thing going on. I still love the Reba. And the YEM is tight too. I love when Trey gets into that groove and the crowd starts clapping.
I just got home to Memphis to receive it from when I ordered it the other day. AOL music has it for $21. I’m only on track 1, but its a major improvement from my old recording. I’ll give more of my insight when I’m done.
JUST PICKED IT UP!
playin’ the whole thing today at work!
I like that before Hello My Baby you can hear the band commenting on how great the Jim was.
