1st SONG AT HAMPTON

^ nice

i also like this idea… just a wicked 15-20 minute jam to kick it off, maybe starting with a pre-conceived groove and going from there. it’ll get people thinkin “is this a new one? it must be something they just wrote…etc…etc…” keep us on our toes from the get-go

^yeah a hampton jam to kick it off works as well, i like that tuneage from the video on phish . com sounds like something from the tower jam at IT

that jam is actually from an earlier show at the mothership from '99…some called it the “Ambient Jam”

Wow that would be sweet.

I would say The Curtain With but upon reading Ghost’s point, I’d go with YEM.

Either YEM or Fluffhead. I think they owe us a Fluffhead, y’know??

I knowwww, how many shows did you see without Fluffhead?

:o

After the hiatus it was Guyute…what does that tell us… probably nothing at all!

I think a fitting opener would be Simple>Hampton Jam>YEM

That would be amazing!

I keep imagining more and more different scenarios…like maybe Mike’s>Simple>Hydrogen
Imagine the opening riff of Mike’s Song to kick it off and the fuckin roof being blown off the mothership…ahhhhhhh!!!

I’d love a Ghost or Moma Dance opener…Make my funk the phish funk…

Ooooh, “Moma Dance.”

That’s a good one.

I just don’t think it’ll be some complicated tune like “Foam,” “Reba,” or “The Divided Sky.”

agreed…momma would be pretty sweet too…im still partial to my earlier post of Mike’s>Simple>Hydrogen

or perhaps Weekapaug>Buffalo Bill>Weekapaug>SOAM?

Uhhh Piper was the first song after the first hiatus, not Guyute.

Actually I think it was Chalkdust or 46 Days on SNL.

I think now that I’m off the morphine I’m gonna have to go with the Jim

jennifer dances? no?

On the Road to Find Out->Icculus

(On the Road to Find Out by Cat Stevens)

Well I left my happy home to see what I could find out
I left my folk and friends with the aim to clear my mind out
Well I hit the rowdy road and many kinds I met there
Many stories told me of the way to get there

So on and on I go, the seconds tick the time out
There’s so much left to know, and I’m on the road to findout

Well in the end I’ll know, but on the way I wonder
Through descending snow, and through the frost and thunder

I listen to the wind come howl, telling me I have to hurry
I listen to the robin’s song saying not to worry

So on and on I go, the seconds tick the time out
There’s so much left to know, and I’m on the road to findout

Then I found myself alone, hopin’ someone would miss me
Thinking about my home, and the last woman to kiss me, kiss me

But sometimes you have to moan when nothing seems to suit ya
But nevertheless you know you’re locked towards the future

So on and on you go, the seconds tick the time out
There’s so much left to know, and I’m on the road to findout

Then I found my head one day when I wasn’t even trying
And here I have to say, 'cause there is no use in lying, lying

Yes the answer lies within, so why not take a look now?
Kick out the devil’s sin, pick up, pick up a good book now

I’m thinking some ambiant “space” noise as the lights go down and they get all situated. Sort of along the lines of the jam on their website announcement. Then as the crowd is starting to quiet down a bit (after 5 minutes of the loudest cheering ANYONE has ever heard) they just bust right into the opening riff of Bowie. No high-hat intro or anything like that. Just the ambiant jam, a moment of silence and then BAM…Bowie it is.
Then they can play all the newer material they want, just welcome everyone back with a total rockin intro.
Nope haven’t thought about this at all…

If indeed YEM is the opener, (best bet honestly) this idea would be really cool. Starting from the back of the floor we begin passing the trampolines back UP TO the stage! Now that would be a goosebump moment!

These lyrics may be fitting for Trey to sing right away…

I was taught a month ago
To bide my time and take it slow
But then I learned just yesterday
To rush and never waste the day
Well Im convinced the whole day long
That all I learn is always wrong
And things are true that I forget
But no one taught that to me yet
