Was it? The following stats may not indicate that 2008 was the best sports year ever, but it sure as hell means a shitload of people were glued to their TV sets for sporting events.
Massive upset in Super Bowl, a throwback to the 80s rivalries in the NBA Finals, the Phillies finally winning, the US taking back the Ryder Cup, Federer/Nadal at it’s peak, an awesome college football season…I’d say 2008 is right up there.
