2008 MLB Thread

Looks like the Twins won their second in a row over KC today, which is good I suppose. Any win feels good after losing three straight to the Angels. Fucking game wasn’t on TV though. Oh well I slept through most of it anyway.

Now I’m watching a little Tigers/White Sox, but I can’t imagine this lasting long considering I despise both teams, especially Chicago.

I didn’t know Jacque Jones played for the Tigers now. Hmm. Oh yeah I also forgot they signed Dontrelle Willis. Fuckin’ aye.

TIGER’S SEASON=OVER

DEEEEEEEEEEEETROOOOOOOOOOOOOIT…

I understand it’s the first week and all but c’mon…the Royals and White Sox?

LOL. Yeah, the Tigers are HORRIBLE. They can’t hit, their swings are behind every pitch, they don’t work pitchcounts, they hit into double-plays all the time, and they never get on base unless they already have two outs. Then you have the pitching who always allow a hit when the opponent has two strikes and the bullpen who I believe has given up at LEAST two or three runs in EVERY game they’ve played. The best is Jason Grilli who had an unprecedented three pitches, three hitss, three runs against the White Sox on Friday. Absolutely amazing.

I just read on ESPN that we don’t have to worry since the 2006 Cardinals who beat the Tigers in the World Series had an two eight-game losing streaks AND a seven-game losing streak in their title year. So we have that working for us…

But on the bright side, maybe this will drive the bandwagon folks away and maybe I’ll actually get to GO to a game. It won’t be much different than the last two decades of Tiger baseball anyway…

TIGERS WIN! TIGERS WIN!!!

and Stevo, you are WAY to much of a sports snob. Just go to a fuckng game. They’re fun!

LOL!! No, No…that’s not what I mean. I WANT to go to a game but decent tickets are already sold out…they’re really hard to get these days, especially for the weekend games. My friends don’t plan very much in advance so whenever we get to a game it’s usually decided to that same day or the night before and with the team so popular, it’s hard to get decent seats at such a quick notice. I’m just saying that maybe with the team sucking, maybe more decent seats will be available since folks will start jumping off the bandwagon and not going. Trust me, I love going to a game…it don’t matter if the team sucks or not or what type of fans are there. I love chaotic, drunken fans more than most.

(And I just won a pair of Wing tickets on the radio today!! I’ll be at the 2pm Game 2 tomorrow!! Wooooo!)

Dear Lord, what happened to Nesheck? I assumed the Tigs were dead when he came in and then I saw he had a 5 ERA and then he proceeded to just get owned for the rest of the inning. Ouch. Perhaps the league caught up to him?

I suppose I know why Nathan is still the closer. Silly me.

LET’S GO TIGERS!!!

Cliff Lee is looking good.

The Twinkies won’t recover from that loss all season.

OR THE ONE LAST NIGHT EITHER!!!

Goooooooooooooo00000000000OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TIGERS!!!

Indians v Tigers

and

Cavs v Pistons

Bring it on Detroit.

oh, it’s already been barought

I’d be pretty amazed if the Pistons bring ANYTHING on in that meaningless game against the Cavs. They’ve been rolling with the second unit in the 2nd and 4th quarters for the last month. (Of course, the best was last Sunday’s game when Toronto needed a win and the Pistons used the B-Team for the entire 4th quarter and still beat their starters. Not a good sign for the Raptors). Either way, Operation: Avoid LeBron was a complete success. Good luck in beating the crap out of Boston in Round 2 for us. Thanks!!

Of course, who thought a 4-10 Tigers team would be playing a 5-9 Indians team. Hilarious. Can’t wait to see that BIG pitching matchup of Sabathia vs Galahalwajakaka or whoever the Tigers have pitching today. Good times.
