mmmmm Erin Andrews in all black…
Bama is opening a can of whoop ass against Georgia. 31-0 at halftime???
looks like the dawgs are mounting a comeback, but it’s too little too late for them
Fucking Purdue.
I’ve said this all weekend, but I still don’t think ND is that good. They were definitely a more physical team than Purdue.
Go Tar heels! ;D
^That was a pretty crazy ending to that Heels game. Nice work. I’m all for the “downtrodden” teams rising up and punching the “traditional powers” in the mouth.
And Purdue…Good lord…I knew that defense had issues but that was embarrassing. I felt ill in cheering for Purdue and I’m not even a fan.
As for the Spartans…nice win over Indiana that was closer than it should have been. Spartans have obvious flaws but the defense and run game keeps pulling us out of it. I still think we’re weak against short passing and I have major questions about our QB. We’ve got Iowa this week who we had BETTER beat…ug…
And Michigan…ug…and you wonder why Spartan fans are so paranoid about that team. Geez. Nice to see the “Bielema Face” on for the entire 2nd half…he looked absolutely clueless.

BOOMER SOONER!!

I generally roll my eyes when pundits start throwing around terms like “Separation Saturday” and stuff like that.
HOWEVER, there are some HUUUUUUGE matchups this weekend.
Whet your appetite with these!
5 Texas v. 1 Oklahoma (ABC, Noon)- Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit, Lisa Salters
Colorado @ 15 Kansas (ESPN2, 12:30)- Joe Tessitore, Rod Gilmore
19 Michigan State @ 22 Northwestern (ESPN2, 3:30pm)- Pam Ward, Ray Bentley
3 Louisiana State @ 12 Florida (CBS, 8pm)- Verne Lundquist, Gary Danielson, Tracy Wolfson
6 Penn State @ 24 Wisconsin (ESPN, 8pm)- Mike Patrick, Todd Blackledge, Holly Rowe
17 Oklahoma State @ 2 Missouri (ESPN2, 8pm)- Mark Jones, Bob Davie, Erin Andrews
(And Purdue traveling to the Horse Shoe for a likely butt-kicking)
I’m still confused at how 5-1 MSU is ranked above 5-0 NW. I mean, neither team has really had a great victory…we’ve gotten things done but the teams weren’t that great. My theory is that because the national media bows before the alter of the great Charlie Weis, they would think that any team that holds ND to 7 points (MSU) should be ranked higher. I don’t think the Spartans deserve the ranking but if they keep winning, it’ll take care of itself. NW scares the crap out of me…last year, our defense could stop NOTHING that they did and we ended up losing like 48-41 or something in OT. Just a scary game…I think their passing game hits exactly where the Spartan’s weaknesses are. Should be an interesting game though.
Plus I’m glad it’s a 3:30 game so I can watch all of that Texas/Oklahoma game. It’s the same thing every year with Texas. They run up the score on every carppy team they play like 75-3 and everyone rants about the lofty numbers by all their players, then play a REAL opponent and lose as usual. Same thing every year but I always enjoy it happening.
LSU/Florida should be nuts. I’d expect high scoring since FLA has such a fraudulant defense. Should have yet another example of how Timmy Tebow can’t actually throw the ball. Yet he’s going to go in the top 10 of the draft and is just going to KILL whoever drafts him.
Colorado’s terrible so I’d expect Kansas to whomp them, of course you expected Kansas to whomp Iowa St and that didn’t happen. Watch Missouri expose Okie State too. And could Texas Tech PLEASE play a REAL opponent?? That may be the most fraudulant #7 team in history.

This is from last weekend’s TTU/KSU game in which Texas Tech romped.

^LOL. That’s awesome.
Anyway, I GOTTA mention my Michigan State Spartans who get to host a home game against that dastardly Ohio State Buckeyes. OSU isn’t exactly blowing out opponents this year and MSU’s been looking fairly solid so I think we’ve actually got a shot. This is probably one of the biggest MSU games we’ve had around here in a LONG time. I’m definitely pumped and really frickin nervous. Let’s hope the boys can take care of business. Shut down that run! Make Pryor throw on you!!!

GO STATE

'Bama barely pulled one out today…
^Yeah, ole Nick Saban loves doing that lately. Amazingly, he might keep doing it for the whole year and make the title game…he’s always got those sneaky teams.
And nice of the Spartans to totally crap the bed against OSU…that game was over in the 1st quarter. Clearly we ain’t on OSU’s level at ALL. Of course we could rebound nicely if we could beat UM for the first time in 8 years this coming weekend. We NEED to win that game. If we don’t, I don’t know what to say…

USC was favored by 43 and covered by 26.
Well, it’s time of the rivalry game…MSU vs UM. It’ll be on either ABC or ESPN2 at 3:30 depending on where you are. 6-2 Spartans vs the 2-53 UM Wolverines but the Wolvies are at home and in most years this game ain’t a blowout. I think the Spartans can do it but I’m wary since anything can happen in this game. I’m going to be a nervous wreck up until then. GO STATE!! They NEED to win this game.

I’ve been watching college football - more specifically, Big Ten football - for close to 15 years. I don’t ever recall a Michigan team this bad. If Michigan State is going to drop the hammer for all their past failures against Michigan…um, this is the year to do it.

I just saw a sign on Gameday that said “Helen Keller is Lou Holtz’ translator.”
Ha!
And another that said “I bought this beer from Ki-Jana Carter.”
[color=green]VICTORY FOR MSU
OSU goes down at the Horseshoe! There’s something you don’t see too often.
Penn State is for real, folks. Their defense is as good as ANYONE’S on the country. They go undefeated and they’re playing for it all in January.
Meanwhile, Purdue stinking it up. Awful. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this, but it reminds me of Keady’s last year. Injuries, horrible team, overmatched at most positions. Ugh. Usually I look forward to the Bucket Game. Not sure this year. Indiana might win.
Is it basketball season yet? Fuck Tom Crean and fuck IU basketball.
