I’m really liking the mixes I’m hearing on this year’s LP SBDs. Trey’s guitar is a little further back and not as harsh as it has been in the last couple years. Whenever I’m driving and listening to 09-10-11 SBDs, there comes a point where I have to turn it down because Trey finds one note that cuts like a dentist drill. Glad they seem to have worked that out.
I’m diggin’ the mix, too, especially the way Mike and Page are coming through.
Indeed lower Trey with a louder Gordo and Page is pretty much exactly what I wanted.
I think Trey’s sound was pretty messed up for a while there too, and I definitely noticed an improvement. Good analogy with the rogue dentist drill note here & there. Was just piercing at times, wonder what’s up with that.
I really dig the simplicity of the old tones from the early nineties, before he got rich enough to screw with it.
Love the balance with the mix this year, Trey is softer and a bit in the back which brings Gordo and Page out more…I dig it!!!
