Wild/Jets was great last night…good action but with an awkward finish with what felt like 10 icing calls in the last 2 minutes as the Jets kept missing the open net. It’s also very weird seeing them declare that it was the “first playoff win in Jets history.” I get that Phoenix “took the history” of the Jets with them when they moved but I kinda feel that the current Jets should be able to keep that history, kind of like how the current Browns do. It makes even less sense that this current Jets team isn’t inheriting the Thrashers history as well since it’s not like they were an expansion team. Very strange.
I also caught the insane intro to the Vegas/LA game and it was almost too much. First the “evil knights” show up to represent the Kings. Then the Hardcore Golden Knight shows up and does the neat little “fire circle” on the ice effect with his sword. They battle and the poor evil knight fought with a flag against a dude with a sword!..of COURSE he was gonna lose. 
Then some dude dressed as a druid with a lantern shows up for some reason and rallies the crowd. Then those crazy drum guys with the glowing glasses show up. Then the large helmet lowers down. Then NBCSN got tired of the whole thing since it wouldn’t end and just showed the players getting ready to skate out instead. Then I got worried that Roenick was going to dislocate his shoulder while spinning the wheel on that siren. Good times.
