3.0 Undermind

It seems to me that Phish has really connected with several of the songs off of this album in recent tours. Army of One, Undermind, A Song I Heard the Ocean Sing, amongst a couple others have really taken flight in the live setting.

I honestly thought this album was going to get lost in the mix, and basically be shelved due to lack of play or the band just not wanting to revisit the year of 2004. But instead they have really embraced some of these tunes. The fans seem to have as well. Really nice to see some of these songs sticking around. It brings back some bittersweet memories for all of us I am sure.

Undermind itself has taken on a life of its own and is sure to be a jam vehicle for years to come. Same goes for ASIHTOS. Lost of emotion on this album that translates to the stage very well. And now that they are playing really sharp, some of the tunes come across very nicely in a live setting.

Undermind… you turned out okay…

Although 2.0 were the years I saw the least amount of shows, I have always enjoyed the music that came out of those years. I agree that they were very emotional songs; as well as those on Round Room. I think that if you ask many fans, the majority will say they dislike that era… but let’s face it, who doesn’t crank those songs when you’re alone and shed a tear when Friday comes on…

:lolno:

All’s it reminds me of is being stuck in Coventry traffic.

But I do like the direction they’re going with these songs in 3.0. Definitely leads to new and interesting territories while jamming. Crowd control is a good set opener, they’ve brought that out more. Nothing is a hit or miss tune that hasn’t reared it’s head in awhile. You either get a spot on version or sloppy as hell. It’s a groovy little tune that could be jammed out if done the right way. Overall, I’m never disappointed whenever a 2.0 song is played in 3.0.
