Never too early - From someone somewhere:

There will be a shorter summer tour in 2013… with fest x… There will be a FALL TOUR IN 2013. The focus of 2013 will be on FALL TOUR. that’s info you can bet on.

My understanding is that we have a handshake with Watkins glen made the day the phone call was placed that phish wouldn’t retun in 2012. Shortly after the Glen came out and said phish wouldnt return in '12 in the local paper. The only reason watkins made that unnecessary announcement is that they had told locals and establishments to prepair for phish return in 12. Phish didnt feel they had the time to dedicate to the planning of a phish fest this year. So according to my source this phone call was a “hey… we can’t do it this year like we thought… but if you’ll have us we will absolutly return for a weekend in 2013”

the band has big plans for next fall… and will make it the focus of the year.

I think I like fall tours better than summer tours. Summer is set up for fun, taking time off, etc.
Going to shows in the fall is a little weirder, darker, more apt for surprises, and all-indoors makes for some high energy shit (see Charleston '10).

I think the possibility of a halloween festival is definitely out there…

But nothing says Halloween more than the northeast with falling leaves and crisp temps

A halloween fest would kick ass in the south. Similar to indio weather at that time, but a bit cooler.
