I’ll post the setlist (based on Phish.net and the CD setlist). Discuss.

*Unfinished - middle jam extended, into Horn. **First time played. ***First time played (original); with Mind Left Body intro jam. +With a crazy “aliens-are-coming” jam.

The only part of this show i was bored at was the Stash through the end of the 1st set. Other than that it’s tip top!

Wow, really? That ‘Stash’ blew my mind! It felt like it kept going and going. Also, didja hear the vocal quote from ‘Frankie Says’? It’s Fishman I think. Anyway, I think it was a great show, all around.
The ‘Tube’ opener was really great, as I said, ‘Stash’ blew my mind, and I love the banter throughout.
Second set opens with a good trio. ‘PYITE’ has a pretty extended opening segment, ‘Simple’ had one of those beautiful, almost ‘Reba’-esque jams, and ‘BOAF’ is an interesting first version with some flubs and a decent ending jam. The rest of the set is just $%#^^&* wow! The ‘Twist’ wasn’t quite as intense as I had imagined it, but still damn cool. I even dig the ‘Guyute’ encore. Oh and yeah there is a definite tease/jam of ‘Mind Left Body’ before ‘Frankie Says’ along with Fishman jokingly offering ‘I, Fikus’ before they begin ‘Wolfman’s’ and are trying to decide what to play.

No way Big B :-X I have to disagree…

I “personally” never cared for stash…but, that Stash at nassau was bad ass ;D IMO

DVD’s coming soon…

a trade tree is on the way…

I whole-heartedly disagree…

I just received my CDs and played the first set of 4.2:
The 1st set didn’t really pick up until the last 5 minutes of “Stash”…very melodic and spacey jam that dissolved into “Horn.” Now normally I skip “Waste” on most listens, but I listened to this one to get the full Island Tour experience. I wasn’t disappointed; gorgeous Trey soloing at the end. “Simple” was beautiful as gregradiohead pointed out (and contained some really really good Mike in the jam), and “Chalkdust,” despite a minor flub heading back into the lyrics, was ALL Page.

Great first set, still need to hear the 2nd set as well as the other 3 shows!!!

Where is the “Aliens are coming jam”???

This “Tube” is a phunking!!

Should be the Twist.

My Mind’s–>NICU is so damn sloppy, but it doesn’t even matter! Great show.

Twist is dark and scary, and interesting.

and I usually enjoy a Wolfman’s–>Sally.

I do enjoy this “Twist,” to be sure, but does anyone actually consider it their favorite ever?

Or does anyone think this is the best “Twist” Phish ever performed?

I suppose I should add strictly in a musical sense.

Being there would obviously add a certain element to your opinion.

when you factor in the jams, post-hiatus Twists take the cake, imo.

6.20.04 is best ever imo. 4.16.04 has an amazing jam. and of course there’s 7.30.03

I put all three of those in the same ballpark as 4.2.98.

I think the Cypress one is pretty sweet too, but I can’t remember much about that one.

Isn’t anyone gonna get on their high horse and bash me for fluffing something post-hiatus??

oh yeah, there’s the 11.29.03 version, and super bluesy intro–>Twist–>Boogie On from Miami!!

Only 30 minutes elapsed, you have to give us more time.

Post Hiatus, lol.
The Twist from Vegas 'o4 is actually pretty good.

I don’t think I have a favorite version.
It’s odd that it was only played twice during '98 (I saw both ;))
Some I enjoy are

07-05-1997
08-06-1997
11-14-1997
10-07-2000
07-30-2003
04-16-2004
06-20-2004

There are very, very few songs that Phish have performed where I can name my absolute favorite version off the top of my head every time (same version, of course).

This isn’t one of them, but I enjoy all the ones mentioned, plus 9/10/99.

I never noticed that it was only played twice in '98. That is odd.

Odd indeed.

Indubitably.

Some may say the best Twist ever is from the album Farmhouse.

Those people live in dumpsters.
