Instead of going by myself to Michigan - which would allow me to do what I please once the wedding/reception is over - I am now carpooling with the groom’s brother. And he wants to leave ASAP on Sunday morning.

Happy 4th y’all. Have fun. I’m going to the beach today… maybe take some pictures. I was thinking though… is there a secret to taking pictures of fireworks? I mean I know you have to turn the flash off, but aside from that… do you have to open the shutter a certain amount or anything like that?
hmmm… if anyone knows, just pass the info on.
A lot of times, people will set up a tripod and use a slow shutter speed, because with the slow shutter speed, you’re not going to be able to hold it steady enough. But I’m sure you can try to just take snapshots and get a pretty decent result.
I have a Kodak from about 3-4 years ago, it actually has a specific setting for “fireworks”.
Probably no help to you though…
today i will turn 33 and my hips will begin hurting. i’m also going to buy my first hankerchief for nose-blowing.
I’m going to a party my friend’s family is having with a dozen or so Sam Adams summer brews in tow.
I’m not going to the mountain anymore, but I will be drinking whiskey, playing music, and watching Knoxvilles gigantic firework display over the Tennessee River.
Had a decent day.
Played in a choose-up at the Country Club in my home town. Played like garbage but still won $21. Got to see all my family members and cooked out with some good eats.
No pics, though. I need to remember to get some up. I’ve got a wicked sunburn goin’.
Also, while I’m thinking about it, this is literally the first time that I can remember that I did not witness any fireworks celebration…TV or person.

12 hours of work, only driver, 1 of 3 people working at the pizza place (the busy good one), another $150.
none of my friends were doing anything all that cool and i got to see all the fireworks from my car listening to Phish.
and the fact that i only got a couple hours sleep last night (this morning) helped in terms of delusional enjoyment.
so it was an unexpected good 4th actually.
my 4th hasn’t even begun.
gettin’ off work in 20 minutes, going directly to buddies place to get quickly drunk off scotch, 1800 tequila, and Pabst, puff mad-style, and light many small explosives.
