6/2/09..setlist discussion as it happens.post here

tonight was fucking fantastic.

im passing out.

gnite folks, looks like you almost had as much fun watchin the sets as we did at the show… almost…

^ HA.

Shit, Timber just melted my face off… :o

Jamming Hood courtesy of iphone dude… just beautiful.

Good call on Song I Heard the Ocean Sing!

what a beautiful buzz!

Aud just posted to etree!!!

Disagree. Epic, no, but still pretty great.

Can’t wait to hear this whole show!!! ;D

While I wasn’t there the recordings of the show really do not sound great.

I know the sound at Fenway wasn’t very good at all, but some of playing was really shaky.

I’m not trying to be a debbi downer but rather being objective.

Phish is finding its legs right now and as a result the performances aren’t tight. Lots of off key playing and hesitation so far.

That doesn’t seem right to me, it was Hood > Loving Cup.

Really? GTBT brutal? I thought that was a good version.

GTBT definitely was not brutal, I have no idea what you’re referring to, but it’s a solid version.

Could be the recording or Fenway’s horrible sound. I’ll listen to it again, but nothing seemed to sync up on GTBT. Not to mention that the vocals were a mess. (Yes I get that Phish is not a strong vocal group but they still can get the timing right)

I’m close to the end of Simple right now, and that was a great jam as well as Mike’s. They just keep getting better and better each show. Can’t wait to hear this Wolfman’s -> Weekapaug. Wolfman just started and I’m liking the upbeat tempo.

The sound in Fenway is not good, and the recordings don’t really hold up all that well, IMO. Was in secion A1.

Haven’t listened to GTBT since seeing it live though.

real awkward transition from wolfmans to weekapaug, seems like Fish wanted to skip the wolfman shit and get right into the weeka groove

yeaaa i hear the forced-ness of the transition between wolfman’s and weekapaug. idk what that was all about. gordo pretty much made up for it tho with those juicy liquid bombs! at least in my book.

yea gordo absolutely saved that segue… quite honestly i was a little annoyed at Fish for pushing Paug upon the band, it was going to happen eventually, but that transition was a little rough.

Absolutely! And if I am not mistaken there was a > in between Timber and Cities as well.

If this is from Phish.com then it makes sense. They have completely given up on labeling the “no huddle” segues. Which I think is absolutely ridiculous. There is no way to tell how the set flowed without them.

no, i just checked. phish.com has Hood > loving cup, phish.net does not. and neither have timber > cities

timber didnt segue into Cities, they stopped for a solid 10 seconds or so
