6/30 - GRAB in Philly

Well, I just got home, and overall it was pretty good, nothing to call home about however (at least for GRAB).

The GRAB set was very similar to those we have seen thus far from bonnaroo and the tour. There were a few songs I did not recognize, but at the same time there were a lot of trey tunes.

It may have been the acoustics of the tweeter center, but either the low mids and bass of the vocals was being buried, or Trey and Mikes voices were so high, they sounded like they were trying to be emo.

Nonetheless, they had some amazing jams on multiple songs.

side note: Mike used a different bass than usual.

The Lesh sets however, really took the cake in my opinion. Trey came out for the the last song of the first set. They played an epic version of All Along the Watchtower, where trey just went nuts. It was one of those moments where he sound incredible/invincible. He also solo dueled with the saxaphone player which was real nuts.

The second was real good, and Trey was there for the whole thing. It’s hard to say that anything could top that watchtower, but the set was still balls to the wall great.

I agree, the terrapin station, st. stephen, fire on the mountain, going down the road feeling bad, was a great second set, especially having trey out there. The GRAB stuff was so so, some mixed really well, and other tunes just did nothing for me. Phil’s set’s were some of the better music I"ve sceen, terrapin was a great treat. Did anybody else there notice how the entire second set after terrapin seemed like a weird jam variation of the tunes they played and runaway jim, i was listening the whole time just thinking to myself it has the same structure, the part “woooooo, wooooooo, woooooo, runaway jim” Fun time indeed, Holmdel tommorrow. Should be interesting.

Wow, sounds like Phil is really playing great this tour.

thank god im goin tonight

gonna be fuckin sick

Yeah olfactoryblue, the second Phil set, most of it was this ambient jam that went through and inbetween the songs.

I saw this show and 7/1. They were really good shows; 7/1 was definately more of a mellow vibe.

yeah the 6/30 show was a blast that second set is amazing

I saw 6/28, and had a blast after listening to some other shows, this was one of the weaker ones but it was a lot of fun. I was not expecting to enjoy Phil as much as I did.

I didn’t really enjoy the phil sets without Trey.

In fact I showed up late for 7/1 just to see GRAB.
