A day in the life of OKP members... pictures

^Sorry, I haven’t checked back to this thread.

There was no evidence of the mockingbird chick on the ground because he was dead in the bucket when I pulled it down to check on him that evening. I guess the parents stopped tending to it or it died of heat exhaustion. I felt really bad about it. The parents were perching on the edge of the bucket, and I was sure they would take care of it, recognizing its call and all.

The sibling chick made it OK. About a week later I saw it flying from one tree to another, testing its wings and cheaping to its parents for food. If the other chick had just waited a little longer, its wings would have been ready for flight. Too bad.

Just goes to show you, a little patience goes a long way.

You can’t fly until you learn how to walk.

I’ll try and post these all in the order in which they happened, but there’s little continuity in them, so I"llhave to narrate.

we start off on Saturday with Brian lounging around the house in what? None other than this…

meanwhile, Aidan is outside playing with his best friend Sean, and I got this picture of them

aidan wanted to then take a pcture of me with my “little red car” as he calls it…

After lounging around for awhile, we all decided that we wanted sushi… so brian and I got cleaned up…

Then, on the way out the door, I said " Hey, let me get a picture of you beside your new baby ( his VW…) and he did this…

So we headed to Matsu Sushi, which is where this was taken… Aidan’s first real sushi experience…

And here is Master Choo and Master Yen… our sushi guys - have been for close to 7 years now.

no more for that day, but the next day we went down to my parents house for Father’s Day, and I got a pretty good picture of my Dad…

and a not-so-good pic of my mom raiding the fridge. LOL

Fast forward another day, and it’s back to work. Here’s my desk for now since we are in transition and basically borrowing the office space we’re in for the next 2 weeks…

notice all the contracts and shit all over my desk… ugh…

BUT… then I get lunch, and where do I go?

TARGET!!! My home away from home…

Now, I went in there to get a new blowdrier since the airlines manhandled my luggage so badly that my blowdrier was broken on my trip down south… but what tdid I end up getting? A body pillow, a blowdrier with 6 attachments, a rug that was on sale, 2 cereal bowls, 4 salad plates and 4 dinner plates… oh, and 2 beach towels. And here I am after I leave…

Brian’s gonna beat my ass!!! LOL

But as I keep on truckign through my day, I eventually hit quitting time and I get off, go change… and head to Brian’s parents house to meet him to go out for our anniversary.

then shortly after I get home, Brian and I went out for our anniversary to California Pizza Kitchen and to see Knocked up… which I highly suggest everyone go see.

^ Nice Pic’s momma.

Here’s some pic’s from this year’s Chicago Blues Fest last weekend.
The best thing about the city sponsored fests is that everyone is free.
There are about 12 a year from Blues, Jazz, Gospel, Country, to the 4th of July fest as well.
Great time of year.
Koko Taylor, a Howlin Wolf Tribute, James Cotton, & Billy Branch all played this year.
Alot of other blues artists you most likely haven’t heard of also.

One of the side stages. This band played a great version of Little Wing.

My new friend

Me and my girl

The lights of the city

This is one of my faves.
The Blue Cross/Blue Sheild building spelled out The Blues in lights. Pretty sweet.

My Sat. night and sunday in pictures…

Saturdau Night we went down to ttown Point Park in Norfolk to see blues travler at the Bayou Boogaloo Festival… good times.

Here i am on the way down there…

Driving into Norfolk (pronounced Nawrfuck)

Hrbor Park - the baseball field, which you can kinda see over the highway divider…hey, I mean I tried…we were going close to 60 mph

The cloud that put a damper on our day…

and then we came home!

THE END.

Interesting. There is also a painting just like that on the side of a Cleveland garage/abandoned building. Done by a famous artist, but the famous artist only paints below the water line. All the air scene was done by another, lesser-known artist.

Here is a small picture of it I was able to find.

that’s pretty cool…!

Who did that one?

Alli, inspired me a bit… here are some shots:
My youngest, Luke… Snuggle bug

Lennon showing Luke the way of life… Jimi style

Lennon and Luke. Notice what’s in Lennon’s hand? He never puts it down

One of these days I will post a link of Lennon playing his drum set. Hope you all enjoy! Cheers

I don’t say this often, but thats a pretty damn cute kid you got there, Dave.

Marie and I and several of the grandchildren will be marching again in the Ocean Grove 4th of July parade this Saturday with the kazoo band.

Heather, the originator and organizer of the band, that’s her with the megaphone, was a founding member of the Phunky Bitches, Phish women’s list, one of the first offshoots of the old rmp. I’ve known her for almost as long as I’ve gone to Phish concerts, and she is definitely one of the phunkiest people around.

Saturday is supposed to be cooler and beautiful in NJ. If you’re in the area, stop by the OG around 10 am Saturday and enjoy the parade. The band is going to be close to 100 people this year, and if you’ve never heard 100 kazoos playing at the same time, you truly haven’t heard anything totally ridiculous.

^
Are you visible in the pic, Bill?
Looks like a pretty sweet get together!

GREG ALERT!

^that’s right. I’m in blue shirt and shades directly above the megaphone. The cheering was part of the fun as well. Gonna see if Heather doesn’t want to integrate more formalized cheers to shout in between the songs. Here’s our songlist:
America from West Side Story
Colonel Bogey

OK… here’s a little slice of my 4th of July. During the day Brian, Aidan and I drove down to Nags Head for some fun on the beach and some out of this world carolina bbq. Then it was back home and over to Dave’s House… brian’s late father’s friend and a close friend to brian and I also.

here’s the kids in the pool

Me by the pool

Adrianna… this is Aidan’s official girlfriend…he is so smitten with her it’s ridiculous. He actually didnt’ want to go to the beach that morning b/c he wanted to stay and see her. I told him he had the rest of his life to live around a woman’s schedule  She’s 2 years older than him too. Already chasing those older women… jeez… TROUBLE!!

Here he is…

This is Kira… adrianna’s mom. We’ve already worked everythign out. We will pay for the honeymoon and the rehersal dinner and they get to pay for everything else… yay for having a boy! Oh… and in this pic… I caught in mid " HEY!!!"

then as the night worn on, Dave brought out the Ford Galaxie 500 - my favorite car of his that he only brings out for special occasions. Here are pics:

Him backing it out

interior… all original!

My look of complete and utter joy riding in the backseat … sorry about the blurriness… we were going about 90MPH

Adrianna and her dad trying to keep up with not a chance in hell of doing so…

and there’s brian in it… I don’t know if you can tell inthe picture but they were burning tires here… maybe you can tell by the big ol’ hell yeah that Brian is giving…

The girls… Adrianna and the twins

Me…with a sparkler

Aidan and I by the light of a sparkler

Aidan being mauled by two twin sisters and his girlfriend… I told him I needed a picture for future reference b/c he’s living every man’s dream at 5 years old.

TA-DA!! that’s all she wrote. and as for the fireworks pics…well when I’d asked the question I thought we were goign to be going to an actual fireworks dispaly, but it turned out that we just stayed around the neighborhood and did our own private one with fireworks we’d gotten that day in carolina…nothing big.

^bitchin’ wheels.

Here’s a link to a slideshow of pictures taken at this year’s parade:

Moma, that’s awesome. I’ve been to that same harbor. It’s crazy how many jellyfish are around there. I’ve also stayed in Nags Head before. It was on the same trip. We drove down the Outer Banks, checked out all of the lighthouses, went paragliding, and then took a ferry from the bottom of the Outer Banks over to the mainland. Very interesting trip to say the least.

Also, that picture of Aiden looking up out of the pool looks scarily like a little Fishman!

(RESIZED)

Here are some pictures from our performance at the Hampton Court festival a week ago:

Damn, those are huge.

Those are BIG pictures.

How did you manage to get on the festival bill. I’m playing in a band at the moment and although we are getting gigs, are finding it very hard to get on festival bills, support slots etc, ie anywhere with a decent size audience. What’s the secret?

Also, what was it like, what time of day were you on, how many people came to see you etc?
