Nice hefty glass of wine for your bro-in-law

makes me want to get home and start drinkin’

Did you at least save me a slice?

Looks like a very wholesome time Ally…maybe too wholesome for you.

Yeah, Ally, Happy T-Day. Great pix.

Thanksgiving is over, it’s now time to pick up leaves. Just had to show you all the nice colors that I’ll be raking tomorrow.

The annual Christmas Eve drinks last night, really nice when everyone is in town this time of year. It’s a panoramic shot from my phone so didn’t get everyone in, explains Jon’s ghostly elbow action too. There is an Ian sitting to my left who did not make the cut, sorry mate.

Merry Christmas everyone.

^cool photo, what kind of phone you take it with?

Thanks, it’s a Sony Ericsson w810i, over a year old now I think but has a cool panorama feature.

check out this awesome stone carving found in my local charity shop (thrift store) that is now sitting on my mantelpiece. only a tenner, bargain.

What a great night we had last night as a family to celcbrate my birthday. Marie and the kids organized a sweet trip to Altantic City by first renting a van so the eight of us could ride together, and all but one of us could get as shitfaced as we wanted.

We did the Tropicana, and even though Ricky Ricardo wasn’t there, they planned a full night, starting with dinner at Carmine’s Restaurant, a family-style Italian place where the wine and food flowed freely. Nice place.

Next we ventured into the casino to kill some time before going to the Comedy Stop for a show. Now my birthday is actually the 30th, so most of us wound up playing roulette, betting on 30 throughout the night. I kid you not, 30 hit four separate times in the span of about 45 minutes. I had it cover twice, and two of my son-in-laws had it at least once each. I walked away with about 250 bucks, and the kids didn’t do so bad either, each winning at least around a hundred.

The Comedy Stop at the Trop was a lot of fun. Saw a couple of comedians I’d never heard of, but who were decent enough for pleasurable evening of laughter and drinks bought with our winnings.

After the show, we stopped at the vodka bar where they specialize in a billion brands of vodka. I had some imported brand that I couldn’t even tell you the name of, and it was really smooth or I was l already too soused to know differently (probably the later).

Hell, we left for AC around 3, and didn’t get home until almost 2, and it felt like very little time had passed at all. What a really great birthday present. My family is really tops. Here’s a picture of us standing in front of Carmine’s, but this is just before we were leaving, and right after the vidka bar, so we were all feeling pretty tight.

Nice photo fonezono, nothing better than having a great time with loved ones. Especially when you catch those few minutes alone and it sinks in and you get that warm feeling of who you are and where you belong, if that makes any sense.

Sounds like a time. Happy Birthday Bill!

I was in here last night reminiscing over all of the pics on here, thinking how glad I am that Fone spurred me to make this thread. It made me think, ever since my post the other day to Rocket Man, about how much of a community we are and how loose the limitations of geography can be these days in the era of pictures, phones, and message boards such as this one.

Thanks to you guys I get to see little glimpses of life whole states and sometimes whole countries away… it’s nice to know we can all be connected.\

Conversely it’s also strange how seeing pictures of a person or, as in the audio thread, hearing their voice can give you a heightened sense of familiarity with someone you’ve never met before and who , in all reality, you know very little of.

In any case, I’m glad to know all of you. Just thought I’d let you guys know.

This is hardly a substitute for the real thing, but

I’m the man on the mountain, won’tcha come on up.

These are pics from a mountain about 1 mile away from my new house.

Red Rock

The Strip

ah the arid dessert, man how do you not turn into a lizard living out there, my skin started to form scales during my brief visit

the trick is to surrender to the flow…

or drink enough water to fill the hoover damn back to it’s previous level of 5,000 some odd feet, when i went by that sucker back in May, the dude driving the bus to the grand canyon said it’s at like ~2,000 something feet, and he kept talking about all the water police and things like water the grass and washing cars and stuff only being allowed on certain days and stuff and that if you violate it you get a 10,000 dollar fine, yikes!

i can surrender to the flow, the flow of water, b/c thats the only way to live out in the dessert

I don’t care how many Circle K stores you build.

IT"S STILL A FREAKING DESERT!

I do love Vegas though. ;D
I’ll be there later this year.

WOO HOO!

the three big world religions (christianity, islam and judaism) all originated in the desert. i can see how they would come to the monotheistic conclusion out there.
