From the end of the Maryland section of the Appalachian trail, this nice little lookout offers a pretty sweet view of the Shenandoah river (i think, either that or the Potomac). Went on a three day hike this past summer with two friends.
Here’s some more pictures from the hike…

Got lost on the first day, ended up on this farmland. There was a vast orchard (like 10 minutes walking each side, SO BIG!) that we wandered into. This neat looking house was on the edge of the orchard. We walked along one edge of the plot, with railroad tracks on the other side, sorta trapping us in. We walked until we reached the edge, turned left, and found our way back onto a road and then back to the trail!

We filled our water bottles up from this mountain spring early on during the second day. Water tasted so yummy! Something about getting it straight from the source that makes it extra crisp.

On the third, and final day, we started out with a grueling 1+ mile uphill, I was not properly hydrated, and had to stop halfway up. Anyway, when we got to the top for some meditation, this thick fog covered the whole valley. We wondered if there were people who lived in the strange fog that surrounds. Indeed there were!

Sure was neat to watch the fog recede.
Hope ya’ll enjoy the pictures…
