Hmmm… ::chews on this for a bit::
Yeah I guess it kind of does.
The Free comparison is actually a good one. I like the fact that this tune has ample room to grow. They can jam it out and twist it a bit, or they can play it be done and move on…
I don’t have a live version, but the studio is really good. Are the live ones as spacey as the studio, all delay and effect-laden?
I was hesitant about this tune but by Great woods i liked it a bit!
The version at Deer Creek 09 was amazing. Great ambient jamming, everyone is shredding especially Fishman, at the end he lays down some thundering fills.
^ I was just listening to that version.
I love that 2nd set.
I really like this song.
I hope they get it into rotation a little more.
6/19/04 is 17 minutes of pure space jamming. It’s on that compilation The Oxy Years
The Oxy Years is quite possibly the lamest compilation title I have laid my eyes on.
Bwahaha!
I thought for sure this song was gonna be the song of the fall when the band stepped inside.
I don’t think we got one. 2010 needs to see more of this one!!
Where is this song? I was calling it at SPAC in honor of the '04 epic. I called it again at JB because it’s right at the ocean! Come on boys, you’re making me look foolish.

qft.
ive been listening to the studio version a lot. this song’s mood defines 2004 phish for me.
I used to think this song was terrible. Now I think it’s okay as long as it stays in the not-so-common column. The 3.0 versions have a lot more energy so it makes it a much better tune compared to the lame meandering delay-effect laden 2.0 versions.
^ It can produce an interesting jam some times… but the song itself is just bad.
The 7/12/13 Jone Beach one was pretty awesome with the massive rainstorm at thw time!
I like it at times. I also thought it was cringe-worthy when Undermind came out. The run away run away part reminded me of a TLC song. Still kinda does. It’s awesome in rain.
Song is the shit, top 10 fave Phish tunes for me, although I have a propensity for the darker tunes.
7.30.2017 - Make sure you check out this great 18 minute type II monster of a ASIHTOS! Someone on the board (Mulch - if I am not mistaken) stated that it was as close to a 1994 jam as you will see in 3.0, and I’m inclined to agree. (There is a point that could be compared to the 12.29.94 Bowie!)
I think that this is the first time since its debut that ASIHTOS was the musical highlight of a show. It definitely hasn’t seen this kind of love since 6.19.2004 (arguably 7.3.11), but ASIHTOS was playing second or maybe even third fiddle at SPAC 2004!
