What’s the deal with this lake? I’ve heard that because of the lake Burlington gets less snowfall than the surrounding area? Is this true? and why? So, will it be colder with less snowfall?
It just confuses me because back home we get lake effect, but maybe Lake Champlain isn’t large enough…?

It’s generally a little warmer in town, so less snow falls than in the mountains. Warmer is all relative though, cause it’s sure as shit gets cold enough often. Maybe it’s warmer up in the clouds’ elevation? I think this causes lighter, fluffier snow to fall in town, which then turns to slush and freezes. Good times! They definitely call it lake effect (i.e. on the weather reports), but I guess I’m sure what that means anymore.
