Mayor Lorenzo Langford confirmed that his office is leading negotiations to hold a summer concert at Bader Field, an airport closed in 2006 to make way for potential casino developers who never materialized.

“There has been and continue to be discussions,” Langford said.

The mayor declined to discuss specifics about the plans, saying it would be premature, but word of the discussions has spread to other city stakeholders.

Thomas Carver, director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, said he has heard about plans to hold a “major concert” at the site for a “three-day event.” He said the city had not contacted the authority about the plan and he did not know with whom the city was negotiating.

“I did hear that these people do all their own financing and that they represent major entertainers,” Carver said of the promoters that the city administration is in contact with.

An AC phish festival would suck. The seedy people it would attract would be TERRIBLE. Phish belongs in the woods, country, etc…Not in bunk AC…

Fuckin’ AC. That place is such a shithole. It’s like Vegas, but even shittier. Every type of scum you would find in Vegas, you’ll find an even seedier version of that person in AC. I have been there twice, and I will never go back. No, not even for Phish. No chance in hell. I would almost rather hang out in downtown Newark. :laughing:

The water aspect is nice. Maybe another year though, since the festival this year will be taking place in Watkins Glen.

Let’s just hope this is similar to the SAME rumors about a Phish/DMB double bill a year ago. Idiots seem to like to throw this around every year. Then again–DMB went from NO 2011 SHOWS to now doing festys? Playing with Phish could’ve been the motivating factor… :silent:
