It’s a quaint little town
“This isn’t vacation!”

Next time just tell em they’re right, you’re there on official business…it’ll probably make their brains shut down
“I’m a doctor of journalism. Here on official business.”
piglett falls over brain-dead
I’ll be there with husband and baby. Staying about 15-20 minutes away at the Hampton in Cummings, GA. It’s 2 miles from Lake Lanier, so we’ll be picnicking and playing in the lake all day Wednesday before the show
Feel free to join us!
::must make some. kind. of. joke.::
MAYBE we be there too…
I’m down to play in the lake with you guys!!
Hopefully it’s not all dried up this summer
is this supposed to be sarcastic? hope so. alpharetta is the epitome of shitty spread-ville to me. either way i’ll be there, hope to see you fools out there
^what you mean you don’t like hanging at the mall, choosing between Chili’s or Olive Garden, and taking in the breath taking views of strip malls with more strip malls in the backdrop right before heading into the show?
I have a love-hate relationship with that town, although it has yet to cause me any personal harm (knock on wood), but I love the venue
lol as much as i love all of that… wait i hate it
. But yeah sweet venue, with a pretty laid back atmosphere. I just hate trying to get around that place. The layout for the lots is sooo confusing and traffic is usually pretty awful. still a fun place for a show though.
Who can give me and Errand Wolfe a ride to Chicago if we do these shows? ![]()
^^dude the layouts for the lots is a fucking mess, I saw Panic there last weekend and it was the first time I had been back since 2011…I think they assume people have figured it out or just remember exactly where everything is cause the signs directing you around weren’t even right usually
^I can probably help y’all out Matty, it just depends if one of my boys down here ends up being able to go cause between him and Little (whom I offered up a ride already) we’d be a little too close for comfort…however I’ll be surprised if my buddy gets his ducks in a row to make Chitown
I have lots of ducks to get in line myself. It’s been a rough rough year.
Not sure if I’ll be able to make it this year. I have TWO TICKETS PER NIGHT that might be up for grabs, if anyone is interested.
Work scheduling for the summer is loose, but if a bunch of people take time off I’m usually the last person to be able to do it. I AM going to Tahoe and LA though, so it’ll make up for my lost times in Alpharetta.
I am supposed to be going to these two shows with a friend of mine. I mail ordered the tickets and scored (pits first night, seats the second), with the intention of him paying me back. While this is yet to happen, plans seem to be falling through. He is bringing his parents along. He told be weeks ago that his family would be vacationing in Atlanta, and at that point I was planning on attending with someone else, which turned out not to work out. But this “vacation” is not a vacation at all; his parents are there to babysit us.
They are coming down the day of the show and leaving the morning after the 2nd night. I’ve tried to tell him that it is pointless for his parents to be there since him and I will be in the lot selling stickers and we will have to get there early. He insists they have to be there because his mother says that staying alone with me is “inappropriate.” So, if we do go, I would be staying with friends in the nearby town of Cumming. The entire point of us doing these shows together was so I would have someone to travel with, making the situation even more complicated because we would then drive separately from his parents and I would have to worry about dropping him off and picking him up from his hotel room. Even though his hotel is close to the venue, it’s just one extra step that is making this show a hassle. Then after the show, we depart and go our separate ways. Forget talking about the show afterwards. The worst part about it, he doesn’t see any of this as a problem.
My question is, is this show even worth it? Is it worth dancing around his “family vacation” to go see a guaranteed awesome Phish show with my friend? I will also be at SPAC, Merriweather, and Chicago. I’m beginning to think that if it isn’t flowing now, then the whole time in the show there will just be tension that could possibly ruin the experience.
My wheels are beginning to turn on this one… works perfect for me since its in the middle of the week… hmmmmm…

^^That sounds ridiculous! Skip it, go by yourself, or take a friend who doesn’t need his Mommy to tag along.
The only way now it would work is if I got my own hotel room, which would alleviate the stress of the commute between Cumming and Alpharetta. This is something I can only afford if I don’t split the money we make on lot by selling stickers with my friend. I think this could work, but I’m not going to a show that I’m not welcome at and that’s the impression I get from him: like I’m the third wheel and the problem.
