Alpine Valley Security

Damn… Our shuttle drops us off at about 3:00. No veggie burritos? No beers? No glass?
No poncho’s??? Damn… http://www.accuweather.com/us/wi/east-tr…chg=1&metric=0

huh???

weather looks shitty…

Too far out to put any real stock in what the weather says. I’m waiting until like Thursday of next week before I look at the weather.

Well, everyone is saying no vending, no shakedown no nothing… Guess we will survive and maybe bring a hammock for the pre show lot scene…

very true. very true. i just need to find a place to sleep with my group at this point. i could care less about the weather.

Agree… But, Im checking that link every day!

the shuttle is what through me off haha. are you getting a shuttle there and just bummed about how early you’re going to be in the lot without a normal lot scene with more security?

Unless all my brain cells are toast, I don’t think I remember it ever raining at Alpine for Phish…

Phish won’t allow it…

I would not put much stock in that report, my weather channel can’t even get the next day’s forecast correct…

pretty much. i have a couple xtras for night 1 so ill be unloading those night 1 if not at deer creek. thats a potential long ass time to hang for a show. especially, if its freggin raining.

Im not quite sure where everyone is getting there info from but there are vendors and there is a Shakedown…It’s just more low key and more of a hassle than other shows…In 2004 they really pushed hard on the no vending but they don’t have enough police to bust everyone…People still swing beers, drugs and food, just not as openly…

But to say there is 100% nothing in the Lots is false…

They will pass out stupid flyers talking about no vending but it still takes place and the risks are just greater…

When I pulled into the Gorge in 98’ there was at least 50 signs on the front gate saying “NO VENDING OF ANY TYPE” “Subject to Fines and Arrest”…Guess what, it did not stop anyone…

You will see when you get there…

^i like this post the best. lets have fun !!

alpine lots and security have always been kind to me about 10 shows there never any prob. hide your drugs when entering the venue and you will be cool

who else? clearchannel.

also, it’s been awhile since i came in the front door of alpine valley, but if you have a wallet chain they will make you take it off. most times you can tuck it in your pocket and they don’t notice, or look the other way maybe, but keep it in mind if you still have a wallet chain.

also also, if you stand looking at the entrance the lot furthest to the left is where mike likes to cruise around on his golf cart.

I always get a lot of frisbee playing done at Alpine lots.

^ yes!!! me too. especially if you get there nice and early, a HUGE open field to toss the disc around. quite nice!

also, there used to be a marshmallow war on the lawn if you got in early enough. imagine a glowstick war, where instead of chunky glowsticks it’s only marshmallows. good times…

Its kinda off the subject , but i went to knoxville on wednesday and they were pulling the same stuff with the water bottle caps. I bought a water inside and the lady took the top off and would not give it to me. I asked her why and she said thats just what she was told to do. I dont get it unless they are just trying to ensure you keep buying water from them instead of just refilling the bottle at the water fountain. typical bullshit i guess.

The no cap thing happens in STL too. It’s so when you spill your water you have to get a new one. It’s all about money

^ It could also be that people just throw the caps on the ground when they are done with the water, so why not just make sure at least the caps are going in the garbage?

Good point
