Hey people,
I’'m not sure how many people are following this amazing saga over on Phantasy Tour. It’s one of the most extraordinary things I’ve seen in all my years on that crazy site–or for that matter, anywhere on the internet.
So in September, a guy posts that he’s got Stage IV cancer and he’s interested in using psychedelics as a way of working with his situation. Of course, people on PT are instantly fascinated with this really unique and intense situation. The guy’s in his 40’s, married–with an adopted 3 year old child. If you haven’t read the threads, I highly recommend them. The guy’s situation is clearly powerful and unique–but more than that, he’s interesting, vulnerable, brave, thoughtful, etc. These threads have become a very powerful love-fest as people have grown closer to this guy’s story. It BLOWS my mind to see the beautiful and genuinely emotional things people post in this guy’s PT threads. (Yes, PT!) He has had a positive, transformative effect on so many people.
At the moment–whiskaz (the thread OP)–is now in hospice and is grappling pretty intensely with increasing pain. He’s trying to spend every living moment he has left with his wife and child. We’ve had an update today from his brother that he is beginning to make his journey onward. We’re told that he has days or weeks.
It’s a powerful story amplified by the fact that he’s obviously a really good and sweet person. He may be leaving this world sooner than some of us–but he’s going out on a blast of love, inspiration and positive energy. His story has touched and inspired SO many people.
Thread 2 starts here with an excellent recap of thread 1:

His major long term concern is the well being of his family that he will be leaving behind. Lots of folks from the Phish fan community have stepped in to help them out. I hope you’ll consider giving what you can:
Thanks for listening!
