nevermind, brahs. i guess that it’s every sport except the one that i actually care about.
Been running through Dantes Inferno. game is pretty bad ass. reminds me a lot of the Devil May Cry games mixed with God Of War. going through the different stages of hell and seeing all the BIG bad guys down there is pretty cool.
It’s weird that the controller only recharges when the unit is on…after all, I want to USE the controller when it’s on and the USB cord isn’t thta long.
Aww…I is sad.
They’re both basically Zelda ripoffs from what I’ve read but that’s kind of why I want to play them since I’ll take anything with a Zelda formula. Plus the remakes seem to do a better job than recent Zelda titles anyway…Okami borrowed from Zelda and it was awesome.
I read that PoP is a lot more “automated” in some areas but I still like that formula. I’ll be getting Assassin’s Creed at some point though…I heard it’s repetitive but that’s okay.
I want to play both so maybe I’ll try to play DMC4 first. I kind of liked the first three DMC games but I didn’t love them. Not so sure if I’ll go with DMC4. Bayonetta looks sweet though. Dante’s Inferno looks cool but I read some bad stuff on it. We’ll see on that.
Okay, Okay.
Eh…I’m not so sure. I’ve heard some bad stuff about that too. I think there’s better wasteland games out there.
Can’t wait to play GoW3 also. I always tell myself to wait for it to get cheaper but I tend to make an exception for those. Even so, I still have Infamous, Little Big Planet and Bioshock to get through.
I’m pretty close to the end of MGS4. I started on Hard Mode for a good challenge and it’s kicked my ass pretty good throughout…especially the part of Act 5 where you basically can’t get an alert or you’re dead. I was surprised to find that you can carry over your weapons to a new game even if you switch difficulties…this wasn’t the case with MGS3. I think I’ll jump to Easy mode next and get a quick “no alert, no kills” run to get the stealth and bandana bonus items, then I’ll work on some more “Emblems” on maybe a third playthrough…I’m already getting the Chicken Emblem in this playthrough since I took like 40 hours and have a ton of kills.
I downloaded Contra (50% off this week on xbox), and am still trying to decide if it was worth it. It’s definitely not the same. But it is close. Someone else should grab it and we can do the two-player mode and rock faces.
i have it, will. and we are x-box friends.
^ I might take you up on that Will. I used to love Contra as a kid, but yeah, I tried downloading some of those retro games that they have on sale right now, and most of them have not held up too well. I’ll download the Contra demo and let you know if I end up buying it.
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is on sale right now and it is fucking amazing still, so I’d highly recommend trying that one out.
i’ve purchased gauntlet, paperboy, contra, and doom. i’m not disappointed with any of them. i bought an xbl original Curling game and it sucked. i also bought bankshot billards 2 off of xbl and it is awesome. totally worth the x amt of microsoft points.
I downloaded the demo of The Impossible Game. And it is fucking hard. I had a tough time getting past 10 seconds of game play, so I am doubting I will be paying for it.
I’m also considering grabbing the TMNT '89 game that is on sale.
My biggest problem with these older games is that the 360 controller has the worst D-pad ever, and it completely ruined Street Fighter 2 for me, so I need to know that the game works well with the analogue stick before I buy it.
i got the TNMNT game on the ps3. it is epic. ![]()
I used to spend so many days after grade school playing that with my one buddy. Great, dare I say… epic times.
You could just try emulators for that stuff. I have all those old games on my computer and I use an N64 controller for them…it’s got the analog and the d-pad so I can use either depending on what I’m playing and it has a ton of frickin buttons.
Anyway. finished up Metal Gear Solid 4…nice little wrap-up to that little saga. I also played again and got the “Big Boss Emblem” which is when you beat it on Extreme with no continues, no alerts, no kills, no healing items used, and in under 5 hours. I hate speed runs so I printed a great guide that really helped me in doing it.
With that done I’m trying Little Big Planet. It’s fun and has that “collect 100% of everything” feel to each level. Of course, it’s really expecting you to be online for it…half the “Achievements” involve online stuff and there’s even “2-Player” sections of some levels where you can’t get certain items unless you play with someone online…I hate that stuff. It’s a cute little game but not blowing me away so far…we’ll see how it goes.
I finally got a Wii!! I traded in my broken DS Lite(which they didn’t check first), two DS games and 1 PS3 game and got $165 trade in value from Gamestop! If you trade in an old console/handheld towards a new one they give you an additional $50 trade in value, plus every game with a tiv over $8, they will give you $25 for if they are put towards a new console. So yeah, basically I got a Black Wii c/w Wii Motion Plus, Nunchuck, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort for under $50!!! I had to buy another Wiimote and nunchuck and of course some New Super Mario Brothers Wii, but still, I just got an amazing deal! New Super Mario Brothers Wii might be the most fun game I’ve played in years too…that’s probably not true, but right now it feels like it.
I really need to finish up Red Dead Redemption, which I finally managed to get past my glitch in, and God of War 3, but I’m hooked on the Wii right now. I really love having all three consoles…now I just need a 3DS already!
having the power of 3 is nice. im telling you man, your next investment better be Mario Party…or the manhunt will begin. ![]()
^ Fine Brad, but your next investment better be Manhunt, or else the party will begin!
Actually, speaking of which, I don’t know which of you have a decent gaming rig, but Steam has some really good deals on right now. Like there is a Rockstar collectors pack that has just a ton of games including all the GTA games from II on, Manhunt, Max Payne 1&2, Bully, etc. for like $60. There are actually tons of good deals on there right now though, so check it out.
ahhh, i would but the computer we have is no good.
does this work on the ps3? also how does downloading things work on the ps3? like say the steam program
^ Steam doesn’t work on the PS3…period. The only way you can download games on the PS3 is via the PSN Store…and there are some great games on there too. Check out Flower if you haven’t yet…probably the most visually “beautiful” game I’ve ever played.
yeah, got the old school tnmnt and twisted metal 2 through psn
I like the GameCube Mario Party more than the Wii one… but still. Those games rule.
