Any gamers up in this piece?

i preordered some wii games that come out in the fall:

nba jam
goldeneye 007
epic mickey

i did the same thing back in february. traded-in my extra xbox 360. i spent $61 on my wii.

That looks like a pretty sweet game from what I saw. Me mucho interested.

as for Little Big Planet, I’m just not that interested. Every level is basically geared around you collecting 100% of these bubbles…except you can’t do it in many of them without being online and inviting players to help you with these set 2, 3 or 4-player challenges. I hate when games try to combine multi-player stuff into their 1-player games. Either way, without being able to get all the bubbles there’s little reason to play except to blow through the levels.

It’s a neat concept for a game since I did the “make your own level” tutorial and you can see HOW the levels of the main game were made…with enough work, you could completely recreate every level in the game with the game’s tools. But that seems like countless hours of work so I’m not that into it. Maybe when I get online, I’ll try it again.

ive been playing just cause 2 over the weekend, my god is that game ridiculously far fetched, but ridiculously fun at the same time.

^ Nice. I’ve been thinking about getting Just Cause 2, but they have been releasing so much DLC that seems to enchance the game quite a bit, that I think I’m just going to wait until they come out with a GOTY edition with all the DLC bundled in.

Have you found the LOST easter egg yet?

HAHA, no, and its funny you mention that, because i was just reading about it right before i came here and saw your post. yeah i was looking up some of the “secrets” …NOT CHEATS! secrets. and in reality i dont know why they released DLC. there is no need. sometimes i just have so much fun running around and doing shit, i find it hard to do the missions. but when i get home im gonna def hop in the nearest fighter jet and head out that way. but i highly recommend the game.

Well, for some reason I was playing the two Metroid Prime games for the Wii and that got me in the mood to play Bioshock. I’m not that big on 1st-person shooters since I still have those moments where I’m in a battle and suddenly thee view gets weird or I get stuck on some object and can’t figure out how to get around it because I’m too busy shooting, but that only happens every once in a while.

Overall, it’s a sweet game and REALLY addicting where I just keep playing without realizing where the time goes. Love the atmosphere of the crazy Splicers and those adorable Little Sisters. Also love how there’s such a variety of ways to kill folks, Stealth, electrifying, burning, hacking turrets and letting them do it for you…it’s good stuff. And all the creepy recordings you find around are great. Good stuff.

Also had my birthday this Sunday and I got Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Brutal Legend and Assassin’s Creed from my brother…I’ll be busy.

glad you like bioshock steveo. the second one is same formula, but easily as fun. and ive said it before, ill say it again. bio gave me that same creeped out scarred feeling that the first couple silent hills gave me.

Yeah, Bioshock has atmosphere coming out the wazoo, but the gameplay gets kind of boring after a while imo. If you do really value atmosphere in a game you have to try out Alan Wake…the forest is probably the creepiest thing I’ve ever experienced in a game. Dead Space has some good atmosphere too, but it’s mostly cheap scares as opposed to the more psychological Bioshock or Alan Wake creepiness.

ive been wanting to play alan wake, but need to beat and send back dantes inferno before i do that.

Anyone playing the starcraft 2 beta right now? anyone planning on getting the game when it comes out?

^ No, and yes when it’s released… in like 2015. And Diablo 3 in 2024!

I actually started firing up my 360 again, playing Crackdown 2 atm. It’s a blast (get it?) but probably just a rental unless you really loved the first one or just really dig causing explosions and mayhem in a co-op sandbox game. :sunglasses: :smiling_imp:

^ i’ll be playing diablo 3 with my grandchildren more than likely, but as for starcraft 2, more like july 27 2010! if not then, it will launch this summer

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is awesome.
I highly recommend it.

Yeah, I can see where the boringness factor comes in. It’s great the first time you play it and you’re being taken on this ride but I’m playing it the 2nd time on a harder difficulty and it’s a little harder to keep myself playing. Part of it is the enemies take more shots on the harder mode so it’s often annoying trying to kill them, especially the Big Daddy’s. Before, it was a little less daunting a task so it was more fun. Either way, all the mindfucks they give you, especially when you finally get to Andrew Ryan were pretty awesome. I thought I had it figured out and they totally threw me for a loop. And then you go back and play it and all of these clues are there right in front of you. There’s things that I even blew off as “Oh, they did that just to make the gameplay work better” that actually fit into the plot as well. Nice work. I’ll probably get the 2nd one eventually.

Alan Wake seems interesting though I’ve heard the story is kind of out there where huge amounts are for interpretation. Sometimes that’s cool and sometimes it’s not.

I picked up Bioshock 2 for $5 on Friday. I also got DJ Hero for $39, since this one store is selling off their whole inventory of video game peripherals. It’s actually really fun. It has some really cool mixes and it just seems a whole lot more challenging than the Guitar Hero games. I’ve got such a huge backlog of games now that I have no idea when I’ll ever play Bioshock 2, but for $5, how could I pass it up? I mean, I really dig the story in the first game and loved the atmosphere and weapons and really everything the first time through, but like you say, on the harder difficulties it just seems too tedious and repetitive and the story really doesn’t have the same impact after you’ve played through it once.

As far as Alan Wake goes, there are gaps in the story, but it has a lot to do with the fact that they are planning it to be like a TV series and that was just season 1. If you enjoy shows like LOST or Twin Peaks, Alan Wake would be right up your alley…unfortunately it’s only on the 360 at this point, so you may have to wait a while.

anyone going to get the new medal of honor online beta?
i got mine for the ps3, gonna activate it when i go on lunch. should be fun. i heard from others that played it that its bad ass.

i’m eagerly awaiting the new madden.

Got Tiger last week and digging deep into it. Putting is a lot more of a challenge than the last one I played (I think 03 on GameCube).

Waiting for the easter egg where I bang some whores.
