Any gamers up in this piece?

^I just couldn’t get into Oblivion either. I guess I’ll give it a chance but I’ll probably wait for the price to drop a little. I’m still sucked into Red Dead Redemption now…I’m getting near the end but I’m enjoying the multiplayer a bit. Who knew?

There’s also a new RPG coming out called Kingdom of Amalur that looks promising…I’m intrigued by that one.

Limbo from XBLA.

also, ACRevelations might not be the best AC, but it still murders face.

^Nice to see Limbo finally make it to PSN. I’ll be picking it up eventually.

I still need to get AC Brotherhood…

CODMW3 campaign is beat. Good stuff, took 4-6 hours or so. A lot of different scenarios, some wild imagery. Great story, with somewhat of a completion to the trilogy perhaps.

Now onto either Special Ops, or multi-player. Probably Special Ops first so I could learn the maps a little bit.

play Limbo late at night in the dark… and with plenty of time to spare.

it will freak you out and hook you into trying to solve all its evolving puzzles.

gets

AC2 and Brotherhood are better games overall, although the upgrade in graphics in Revelations is unbelievable. either way i’m completely addicted to the AC storyline, so i will play it all until the end

^I like the storyline of AC that doesn’t actually involve Desmond and his stereotype Scooby crew. The whole all-encompassing Templar stuff in modern times is just boring and cliched. I love all the period stuff though so thankfully that’s usually the focus.

Well, I feel I beat Batman “enough”, so I’ve been on MW3 the past few days. I am starting to get the rust off, and loving it. A lot of my friends pretty much only play Domination, which is cool… but it isn’t my favorite. I still need to learn these maps, but I am itching to play Hardcore TDM. (or whatever it is called in this incarnation)

Eh, well it looks like I’m getting tired of Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. I think I’ll stick around enough to get the last few trophies I need to get platinum and then that’s it. I did meet up with this cool guy online on an RDR message board and we’re helping each other to compete a few of the team trophies…that’s the cool part of MP when you meet up with some nice folks who just want to help one another. Still, I’m just getting bored with it so I’m back to focusing on finishing the single player. I also got the “Undead Nightmare” expansion with the zombies so I’ll hit that after…that looks like some silly fun.

Also finished Apollo Justice, the fourth “Ace Attorney” game last night. Not a bad game as it still had the same twists and turns and good humor as the other games. The end of the last case was a little anti-climactic though since all the big secrets of the case are revealed during the investigations before the trial and the trial itself is just nailing the bad guy.

I’ll probably hit the Ratchet and Clank game next, Crack in Time. It’s a few years old but I was holding onto it so I could play the downloadable game that came before it. It’s probably unnecessary but it’s not like I didn’t have anything to play in that time.

Heh…finished Red Dead Redemption…even paired with some cool guys I met online to get all of the trophies. (Well, I at least got the trophies for the DLC I actually bought…there’s a few I didn’t buy so I don’t have those but I don’t much care). We even got that Kingpin trophy which requires 9 dudes to all coordinate to kill each other while doing the Land Grab game…that was pretty darn chaotic.

I also tried Grand Theft Auto 4’s multiplayer and it’s insane. It’s like I stepped into Call of Duty with dudes nailing headshots with ease on me…it’s amazing how consistently and easily these guys nail headshots even from very far away. I don’t have a chance.

I also paired with some dude to cheaply collect 50 wins in Brutal Legend’s MP to get the last of the trophies I needed in that. Yippee.

Finally started my Ratchet and Clank games last night…enough multiplayer for a while.

Also read something on a South Park themed RPG…that could be interesting…

I always feel so behind when I post in this thread. I’m about 3/4 through Dragon Age: Origins. It’s alright. I probably won’t want to beat it again. I’m setting it aside for a while though because I just got the new Zelda, Skyward Sword. I haven’t played the game yet but I’ve used and abused the disc that came with it, 8 fully orchestrated tracks from the series.

I also have Skyrim now. I haven’t opened that yet because everyone I know who has it is obsessed with it. Looking forward to the addiction.

^Hey, I’m about as behind as you. Usually about a year at least. The Ratchet and Clank game I’m on now (Crack in Time) is about two years old.

Dragon Age I was always tempted to play but there’s so much other stuff that interested me more. I played through other Bioware games like Baldur’s Gate and Knights of the Old Republic and they were alright but I can’t see myself playing those again. In some cases they’re just a grind.

I was not a fan of Oblivion so I’m a bit wary of Skyrim. It gets so many high marks but every review has these caveats they put in their reviews. I guess it’s glitch and the dragons are really easy to kill and the dungeons are repetitive but at the same time others love the massive number of quests. I’m wary of it. But at the same time I’d like to try a good RPG again since they seem to be rare. With internet now I guess I can try Mass Effect 1 now but I have other games I’ve already bought. There’s also the new Golden Sun game I have and there was another DS RPG game called Radiant Historia which a lot of folks said was good so I want to get that. There’s also The Witcher 2 for PC which got super high marks…I played the first one and it was very good.

I’m finishing up my R&C game now…what a fun game. Insomniac never gets those wrong. I may try those downloadable Mega Man games next…MM9 and MM10. I was always a sucker for Mega Man. Or maybe I’ll try the latest Golden Sun game for DS. Decisions, Decisions….

^ I hated Oblivion and I think Skyrim might be one of the best games I ever played. So, take that for what it’s worth. You can knock it for it’s glitches and streamlined leveling system, but that game is anything but repetitive. There is so much content, and while it may be so much as to be overwhelming at points, it really gives you, the player, freedom to play the game however you want to in a way that no game has ever done before. I can’t recommend that game to anyone who is really willing to sink a huge amount of time into a single player video game. I’m about 50 hours or so in right now and I have barely touched the main quest and only done a couple of the guild story lines. I just love exploring that world…really amazing stuff they created.

Also…I bet most of you haven’t, but you should all really play Saints Row: The Third.

GR, that stuff is why I can’t write off Skyrim completely. I love sidequests in games so it seems like it’s right up my alley. I loved FF12 for all the extras far more than the plot. For Oblivion, I disliked the battle style and leveling system so much I never got that much into the quests. My other issue is I hate first-person melee games…it’s so hard to avoid hits and tell if you’re hitting enemies, though I’ve heard Skyrim has a 3rd person view, I’m not sure how good it is. Either way, I’ll probably wait for the price to drop and then I’ll give it a try.

I’m, somewhat ahead of you as I just grabbed Saints Row 2 off the shelves on the weekend for fairly cheap. Another friend said it was great and I love the GTA-style stuff. Plus the sense of humor seems pretty fun. If it’s as good as they say, I’ll be jumping into part 3. It should be cheaper by then.

I also just got Lego Pirates of the Caribbean…I’m a sucker for the Lego games. Also bought a somewhat obscure DS game called Monster Tale which is new but is already less than $20. It’s a Metroidvania-style game but with some monster raising elements thrown in…it got good reviews and I’m also a sucker for the Metroidvania style of game.

^idk about all this stuff but I recently scored 378,000 on an arcade Donkey Kong machine, none too shabby! The record is only a million so I’m a third of the way there!

Also scored 5.9 mill on Zoo Keeper… which isnt half bad… 10 mill is a world class score. got a little work to do.

^ So that’s how you’ve been spending your spare time since becoming a bonafide RN? Playing arcade DK and Zoo Keeper? They must have these machines in the game room of your hospital :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

^its even worse, i play an emulator on my comp with a mail-ordered joystick. then, when i can, i go to the local arcade and try to impress the kids with my skills. this is how i maintain my ego. its pathetic really

but 378,000! i was psyched! that was like 45min or more of game play!

I don’t know man. I hated Saints Row 2. I know it’s a pretty popular game amongst a certain crowd, and if you’ve got somebody to run through it co-op style with, it probably has it’s moments of fun, but I found the mandatory side missions all got really boring really fast and the story is not nearly on the same awesome level of craziness as Saint’s Row 3. I will say though, if you like SR2 you will absolutely love SR3.

^Yeah, I got it for cheap so I’m not too worried about wasting cash. We’ll have to see how it goes. I’m pretty easy to please with these open-world games.

And 378,000 is pretty sick. And I don’t blame anyone for getting it done in an arcade. There’s some crazy rush of doing it in an arcade. I used to go nuts on the pinball machines but that was mostly because no one played them so the records weren’t that great. Was also pretty awesome Asteroids back in the day.

Finished my Golden Sun: Dark Dawn game. Had a lot of fun. If you liked the first GS games for GBA, you’ll like this one since it’s identical to those. A bit on the easy side for most of the game but the final boss gave me a good fight and there’s a few hidden optional bosses who can be a pain as well. I do wish these games were more difficult.

I started Mega Man 9 which is the download-only sequel to everyone’s favorite Mega Man series for the NES (and later the SNES and PS1). This game is hilarious because they totally went back to old school. The graphics and sound are EXACTLY like the NES version. The music is the same cheap midi music from those days…even the cutscenes are the cheap still-pictures with big blocky text for dialogue. It’s a total throwback and it’s loads of fun.

There’s no trophies but there is a new feature with Challenges…there’s 50 of them and there’s a variety of stuff to spice up the game. Stuff like killing the bosses with the normal weapon and running throw a level without firing a shot. Of course there’s also insane ones like killing a boss in 10 seconds, or beating the game without getting hit once which seems impossible. Not sure how long I’ll go with those but we’ll have fun with it.

Just picked up NHL 12’, which i have barley played since FIFA 12’ is the greatest game ever made…

Lookin foward to UFC3 coming out in a bit…It will be a nice change to play a new a new MMA game since I’ve burned EA MMA into the ground…
