99% of my jokes come from the Simpsons. In fact, I downloaded every episode via bit torrent (46 gigs!!!) and made my g/f watch them so she would understand that I wouldn’t be funny if it wasn’t for that show.
That and South Park. Always funny and edgy. The new one was great! “Butters, you don’t shoot a dude in the dick! That’s not cool.”
South Park is great, but I stopped watching the Simpsons a few years ago. The old ones are hilarious, but I think that the new ones are pretty lame.

I haven’t seen either of the first two episodes this season because I no longer have TV at my house, but I consider myself a pretty huge South Park guy, even if I think the show is sadly past its prime.
The last few seasons have been hit-and-miss, but I’ll always love seasons 2-7.
Simpsons is great too, but I haven’t consistently watched that show since the late 90s. I did buy season 7 recently and its pretty good.
South Park is generally above average. The few new ones I’ve managed to see have been great.
Simpsons is way past its prime and I really wish they would kill it off. All the best and most classic jokes come from episodes that are almost a decade old.
Simpsons is still funny…I don’t care how people rip on it and say it’s tired…it still makes me laugh every time I watch (unlike more hyped comedies like the Office which is brutally unfunny and awkward).
South Park I don’t watch regularly though I catch an episode here or there. (I kept catching the end of the new one where Lucas and Spielberg kept raping Indiana Jones…I still have no idea what was going on with that episode).

You shit, you’re right! And I agree with most people, the Simpsons hasn’t been funny for a while (or at least I don’t keep up with it anymore). Seasons 3-12 are solid gold though.

The Simpsons is like Phish, some years were better than others, but they’re all great.
The problem I have with the newer ones is that its just a bunch of political humor. They need to get back to the basics, simple stuff like Sideshow Bob stepping on the rakes. That shit was classic. I thought the movie was very well written, by Groening and Brooks themselves. A lot of the newer writers on the TV series are just dull, bring back some CONAN!
As for South Park, season 1 was the shit. And season 8 is one of the greatest seasons of any TV show. Lately I haven’t been impressed, but South Park always comes back when its down.
I’m impressed that some of you guys can define the success of these shows on a season by specific season basis!!

I watched the first episode of the season, which I thought was pretty meh
and I just finished the goth/vampire one right now. This one was better. I especially LOL’d at the Burn Hot Topic song. And any episode with Butter’s Dad freaking out on him is good.
Simpsons ruled for a long time. South Park is pretty damn funny whenever i catch it. but i’ve always liked King of the Hill best. i don’t know why.

this second half of this season has been quite weak
first half had some great ones tho, the cheesing episode, bono episode w/biggest crap/# 2 stuff, guitar hero episode, internet running out episode
the last truly epic south park imo was the World of Warcraft episode, they did that one to a fucking T, everybody south park fan should see that if they have yet to
