fuck. i have class when the Trey tickets go on sale on Friday morning. noooo…
no one going to any of these shows?
as of now i have secured tickets for Walkmen and Byrne. dished out $60 for Byrne tickets but fuck if i wouldn’t pay a $100 to go to this show.
Byrne is playing here in Chicago, but damn,… $$$.
Too much for me right now.
I got a full plate already this fall.
Have fun.
Have 4 primo seats for Byrne at the Count Basie in NJ, and I can’t wait. If he’s half as good as when I heard him last at the Basie 4 years ago, he’ll be GREAT.
I might offer up two of those seats if a couple of friends of mine don’t answer me soon about going. So Steve or Matt or any other Jerseyites who might want to hear DB, keep that in mind.
Not much of a Beantown crew around these parts.
I’m planning on spending a weekend in Boston sometime this month or next to check out some colleges… and hopefully catch a show if one is going down the same time i’m in the harbor…
and Bill, certainly hit me with a PM if you need to get rid of those seats, my mom and I are big DB fans, and she would die to see him i’m pretty sure…
S.O. if theres any shows i go to when im around i’ll send a PM your way
awesome! do it.
i saw him too possibly on the same tour four years ago…my memory of the show is a little hazy but i do recall it being outta sight.
he toured with a sextet string ensemble of young people who added an incredible background to his music. he also had an incredible rhythm section. altogether, i believe there were nine musicians with him on stage most of the time, although he played some of his talking heads “hits” solo with an acoustic guitar.
what Heads songs did he play? only the “hits” on solo or did he do songs with the backing musicians as well?
This is the setlist from the Byrne show I saw in '04… I imagine a fair amount of you were there as well. But, maybe not.
