Are You Ready For Some Football! NFL 2011

^What I was secretly hoping was with Stafford being a bit banged up, that him just being THAT close to Tebow would actually heal him of his injuries. Tebow just gives off an aura and just being near him for 5 or 20 minutes is good enough to benefit for a lifetime. And it worked as Stafford looked quite good for most of the night and even shaked off the newer injuries that he predictably came across this week…and the great Tebow also healed the Lions run game which did very well. And he even healed the Lions defense who had been getting passed on quite a bit. Tebow is truly a great man. Ahhhhhmmmeeennnn.

“Thank you, Tebow, for giving me the strength to sack you.”

Seriously, I’m just glad the Lions did what they’re supposed to do against a bad team. 6-2 looks a LOT better than 5-3. Whew…

Vikes won.

Ponder should have started from week one, just so much more of an athlete than McPoopie…

Skol!

Great Philly game last night too… Like I’ve said a few times, Eagles will be a force, just too much talent! Love watching Dallas just fall on their faces!

I didn’t watch any football besides the Steeler game yesterday and it was a goodun. Glad to see Tebow look like the jerkoff QB he is, especially at the hands of the Lions. Wish I would’ve watched it.

Denver is in trouble if they keep letting all the local media and fans make all their decisions.

^While the results are small, I think he needs some time, I mean he has only started a few games… I think the pressure in Denver is funny, I mean they are not going to win right now with either QB, and they got rid of their best WR, just an odd team right now.

Tebow’s game line stats over the few games he has played in are not that horrible and with some work over this year with the first team, he might turn out to be a viable QB…

I am just guessing here… :silent:

It kind of feels that way since there’s no way they feel that Tebow is actually better than Orton. It’s just that Orton is limited and they’ve likely already figured that they’re not winning with him. So the only guy left is Tebow who the fans want so maybe it’ll raise sales or something. What’s worse is I guess there was a site that did a poll on “should Tebow be the QB” AFTER that game on Sunday and it’s still 75% in favor. The people there hate Orton SO much and Tebow’s such a nice guy that nothing he does scares them away. Some even say Jon Fox is sabotaging Tebow by calling a bad gameplan so he looks so bad that the fans aren’t pissed when he’s benched…I’d say it’s more like Tebow sabotaging the gameplan.

I will say that was the first game in which I’ve watched Tebow for an entire NFL game. And, wow, he may be the worst QB in the league…or at least he did in that game. I mean, his scrambling is nice but he’s not that fast and he can’t break tackles with ease like in college and he can’t always run up the middle so he scrambles outside which isn’t his strength…so most of his runs are only successful due to misdirection (a huge part of those Urban Meyer teams, by the way)…if it’s just a scramble, he only gets a couple yards before someone catches up.

Then his throws look AWFUL…it takes him SO long to release that ball that defenders have extra time to locate the ball and be there for it. I even predicted the pick-six late in the game since I knew he would force that ball on third down and the Lions D knew it too. Plus given how bulked-up this guy is, I was wondering if he could even throw it 40 yards…his passes looked that weak. He may succeed in a short-pass-only offense (trade him to Cleveland!) but in a normal offense?.. I’m not sure he can play QB. Now if ANYONE can work their ass off and make it work, it’s him but he’s already worked so hard just to get to this medicore level he’s at now. He’s got to work hard to get things that most NFL QBs already do naturally and that puts him far behind the curve.

And I’m NOT one of these Tebow-haters. I make fun of His Holiness quite a bit mostly because I like going over-the-top with it but he’s a good guy and has legit leadership skills and his teams just love to play for him…that’s why he was drafted. Overall, I think I enjoy him in the league mostly since he’s not playing for my team.

And nice work for Ponder…good to see him doing well. No surprise on the Eagles, Reid is undefeated after a bye week.

I’d take Tebow over T-Jack, J.Beck, Curtis Painter and Chad Henne…

Why does Chris Berman talk in such long sentences, do the point where it sounds like he’s going to suffocate by the end of each one? Why doesn’t he just take a quick pause to inhale? It doesn’t take that much effort…

Chargers fans won’t soon forget that debacle last nite

Yeah, that is funny, those Chargers are hurting and Rivers is not looking normal!

That’s like saying you’d take Tebow over a festing pile of crap on the sidewalk.

And wow…John Beck…anybody figure out why they benched Grossman yet? Those 4 INTs in one game were THAT bad? That team is basically done now.

And, wow, I’d like to say that was a shocking collapse by the Chargers but it wasn’t shocking at all…that was routine. The SD@KC game is like this EVERY year. Every year is seems like KC isn’t good enough and it reflects in the stats but due to crazy turnovers or maybe a kick return or two, they win.

This one may have been the worst though…just killing clock and they fumble a snap. Whenever this happens, it’s funny hearing the announcers freak out when the opposing team is in the same situation. They were screaming for KC to kick the field goal in OT as though expected them to botch the snap at any second. Always a funny sports quirk.

Chargers game was funny. Bills won in convincing fashion this weekend, even though the Redskins played horribly, a win is a win.

BILLS, BILLS, BILLS!!

^Yeah, sweet to see the Bills doing great…kind of an AFC-version of the Lions resurgance. It’s also neat that I have Stafford and Fitzpatrick as my fantasy QBs so I cheer for both there too. Stafford on bye this week so Fitz is my man against the Jets.

And wow, Andy Reid is still undefeated after a bye…what a strange streak. That’s right, NFC East and NFC South…just keep beating each other and hurting each other’s records for a wild card…that’s right…

The Lions have Nickelback performing as the half-time show on Thanksgiving Day.

Losers

^

^^You say this like the Lions themselves scheduled them. Which they didn’t. It’s either the NFL or FOX themselves. There’s no way that Detroit would use anything but a local guy (Eminem, Kid Rock, Bob Segar, etc) or a Motown act if they were allowed to schedule it themselves.

And trust me…it’s NOT a popular subject…I just listened to about an hour of sports radio of people calling in about how much Nickelback sucks and how there are multiple lists online that have them in the Top 10 of worst bands ever…and I would agree.

There’s even a group of fans forming a petition against them playing. Of course petitions do nothing but I love the huge swell of hatred for Nickelback.

By the way, some of the responses on the petition are kind of funny.

I’m gonna go ahead and retract a bit from what i said about Trent Dilfer the analyst. He seems to really do his homework and provided some good insight to the Eagles offense today when i was watching. Still, the whiny voice detracts.

Like for 9ers to win this week. Lions too but i can’t remember who they play.
Hoping for a GB loss.

And an awesome MNF game. Love watching Cutler and Vick; there’ll be beer for this one, oh boy.

And it looks like Favre may be finally retired for good. Honestly, I was hoping for a late year comeback, but I just don’t see the team.

Sweet! I may like him more because I’ve heard him in forums outside of ESPN where he’s a bit more candid. Here’s one of him with Bill Simmons before last year’s Super Bowl. A bit dated but he seems to know his stuff. In fact, a lot of unbearable ESPN guys seem to become bareable once they’re either away from ESPN or in a forum where they’re more candid. I couldn’t stand Dan LeBatard until I heard him in a podcast…it was like a completely different person.

We play the bye week this week. And for once WE’RE favored again Open Date.

Sports Illustrated Jinx is possibly in a effect. A bunch of Packers guys were on the cover this week. Maybe take the points?

Dang, I didn’t even look yet…that IS a sweet game. We sometimes complain about overkill of seeing the same team but the Eagles are fascinating. Plus Vick is fun too.

^Actually “rumor” has it the NFL/Det Events Committee worked TOGETHER on this and it was a group decision to have a “safe” act like this crap shit band…

Shit, this might be the worst musical NFL performance EVER…

EDIT—

Fox Sports report out today, interesting…
