arrowheads?

so me and my gf have been on a hunt for arrowheads for awhile now…our search has ended up fruitless unfortunately…my question to all OKP’ers…have you found arrowheads before, and if you dont mind giving up your location, where?

we have found flakes that are left behind during the making of the arrowheads but never an actual point itself…i know someone on here has found some or a family member has found some…please please tell me where so i can go find a piece of history for myself.

please help me.

thankyou.

^Where are you?

I can give you the coordinates of a backcountry camping spot in the mojave desert where you can find all sorts of arrowheads and tool pieces and flint flakes. There are lots of hieroglyphics around there, too. Just let me know if that’s at all possible for ya and I’ll post up all the details!

dooj yer the man! im in michigan but we need to take a vacay out to cali anyways. pm me any info you got…thatd be greatly appreciated.

^Awesome-- no problem at all! I’ll PM you all sorts of info. You’re gonna want to rent a Jeep, though you can still do a good amount of exploring without one. Also, avoid summer if possible. Most of the Native American sites are in the desert, which becomes unbearably hot for most humans during summertime. Try for late Feb through late April or early Oct- mid November. April is the month if you want to see flowers and wildlife along with your arrowhead hunting.

A trip to the SoCal desert is something most visitors here totally skip over and ignore. It kicks Hollywood Boulevard and Third Street Promenade’s asses!!!

i used to find arrowheads when i was a kid at my grandmothers place in the mountains. they found some when they were making the driveway and laying the foundation. then i found some just wandering around in the woods. this was in cove creek NC near boone NC. you could probably try anywhere in the boone area, i think there was a pretty big native american population there.

I’ve found some u in Sewanee TN quite a bit. I even found one in my neighbors yard down here too.

I’ve found scrapers and arrowheads near the water at My folk’s home on Elk Lake in Northern Michigan (near T.C.) The next drive over is even called Arrowhead. There were several sites in the area and a couple of museums in the area. 1 mile from my folk’s place is Guntzviller Taxidermist. They have 1000’s of arrowheads and other tools in the back museum. They know their shit re: Michigan Native Americans. I don’t know about a website though.
They have about 15 displays like thi of just arrowheads. Tons of other artifacts as well.

Well zone, good news for you. You actually live within about five hours of a definite possible goldmine of arrowheads and artifacts. Many people I know have recovered these types of items here.

blackhawkpark.org/

Indians in habited this area for about 12,000 years. Site of the famous Blackhawk War. I would be very subtle while doing your search, because this site of about 400 acres is protected by historical societies.

thanks for all the info guys!! keep er coming! i know theres more of ya!!!
