I think you’re overreacting a little bit. All they said was “here’s the right forum for this” and it is - this is the section for discussion about the site itself, and that’s what this thread is about. It’s nothing personal at all; nobody is trying to shoot you down, gang up on you, make you feel unwelcome, or even disagree. In fact, I think it’s safe to say all of the regulars around here would agree that “If you disagree with someone, do it in a fashion that is respectful to the person” is dead on.

^^^YOu missed my point. The point is disagree with me all you want. Just don’t be an asshole about it. I never implied I was a more serious musician than Fishman. I meant that since I have a trained ear, I don’t like to hear bad notes.

Well then maybe it sounds like you’re implying that you’re a more serious musician than those of us that do like Fish songs…regardless…watch how you make yourself sound. You could criticize the Fish songs without adding in comments like “I’m a serious musician” and all the sudden your comment comes across as a lot less condescending. Just think about it, is all I’m saying.

It’s really that simple.
I think that one-rule system will work here too, so long as not searching before starting a new thread can be considered being an asshole.

I have scored 90 and above in every aural test so, yes, I am confident saying that I have a trained ear. I’ve dedicated my life to it. So call me pretentious but I wasn’t saying that my opinion was more valuable because of that. All I was saying is that people with trained ears cringe when they hear bad notes. I didn’t even mention that until I was chastised for having an unpopular opinion.

Nobody likes to hear bad notes, and even someone with a basic understanding of musical coherence can identify a misplaced note. I agree. There is no place for rudeness here. But dude you ought to relax. No one is mad at you or thinks yer a bad guy. It’s just annoying to have a missplaced thread. Plain and simple. And fishman tunes are a joke. A joke referring to Fish’s horrible singing voice. Its a chance to relax and laugh it up a little bit.
