'beautiful' jam?

was listening to camden 7/10/99 chalkdust today and was struck by the great jam, specifically the piece from about 9:00-12:00 (trey, in particular, sounds amazing from about 9:35-11:30). simply beautiful, blissful, triumphant music…
you know what i mean?

know of any other jams that feature this type of playing?
what comes immediately to mind is the 8/17/97 bathtub, from about 8:00 to the end… nothing tops the climax that starts at 12:35
i love (!) this style of jamming…

cheers.
ps. dig the in memory of elizabeth reed tease in the camden chalkdust! i never noticed it before.

hell hea elizabeth reed, best allman song ever!!!

well, dicky betts wrote it, but still an allman song!

Every Reba jam is like this for me. F**kin’ beautiful…

Bathtub Gin 8-9-98 is pure bliss…as is the ending solo of Lizards.

nothing like a really well done coil for a beautiful jam

On 2-17-97 in Amsterdam during the Carini jam, the last 3 or 4 minutes before they go into Taste is really really beautiful. Too beautiful to describe because there is nothing to compare it to! Maybe a reason why it struck me so hard is because most of the jam before it is so raw and powerful.

the end of Hood.

especially Sugarbush '94.

While listening to the 12/7/97 Slave, I was having an out of body experience - I was literally floating! Slaves always make for pretty jamming, but this one…WOW!

Reba…all Reba’s really…but some times it gets acheingly beautiful such as 12/31/95 & 5/16/95.

The 13-17 minute section of Tweezer from 2/28/03 is one of those moments, in my opinion.

Agreed^^
There are a few sections in the 7.19.03 yem that come to mind. but I don’t have exact times

Yeah, a lot of the best jams from 99 onward have these beautiful peaks to them that are very similar to the 7/10/99 Chalkdust. I call them Soul Cleaners.

The Ghost from the IT festival was amazing after about ten minutes of the jam. I think it is a close call for best version of that song with this one and the 11/17/97.

definately the end of hood. one of phish’s best

10/31/98 Sweet Jane is absolutely beautiful to my ears.

when i saw the subject to this thread, that’s exactly what came to mind right away…REBA!! that, slave and hood all have very blissful jams and are intended to.

songs like the afformentioned chalkdust or a good bathtub can really go anywhere at times, but there are instances where they turn into such beautiful jams and those ones REALLY take you away and grab ahold of you cuz you weren’t expecting it necessarily.

i’ve always been partial to the 12-7-97 “Slave” and the 10-31-94 “Reba.”

“Slave,” as other people have certainly mentioned, lends itself to some of the most beautiful jamming I hear from Phish (composed or not).

^ i totally agree. reba and slave always do this for me. a nice set closing coil is always a great way to walk off the stage. all early versions of tela are very well done. i wish they continued to play the original version of this song after the 80s. i would also agree that the lizards jam is beautiful every time.

I’m a sucker for the Simple from the Went…Once it hit’s that moment (Bittersweet DVD) I think it’s purely amazing…One of my favorite jams…The whole set was pretty damn good acutally…The Slave didn’t do it for me…I think they needed to get re-energized.
