Free. Soundboard. mp3.

I’ve always wanted to do that.

yeah it’s that last part that stinks. and call me old school but i don’t pay for shows. even if they are soundboard. not going to go on and on about mp3. . . . but i’d rather have AUD uncompressed then (even free) mp3

speaking of which. . i’ve been meaning to post this:

old school:

I’m sure even Mp3 SBD sounds better than uncompressed AUD. But whatever, MP3’s don’t take up barely any space, but whatever. Listening to the MP3’s right now, great quality good amount of crowd noise. Not too much, just enough.

I want to hear the crowd. You can barely hear us during Suzy.

I have come to love a good aud over sbd, even official.

edit- Haven’t listened to any aud’s yet though… not even all the way through 3/7 yet

Really?

Interesting. I guess for me it depends on the show itself.

Really.

And if I really wanted to be picky… my dream source would be musically all audience, with a SBD of the vocals edited in.

Something about the music going through the SBD, out the speakers, and into ears/microphones… it is how it is supposed to be heard, IMO.

i enjoyed all the AUDS that were put up from various tapers through mr miners phish thoughts, they to me sound better than the sbd’s, if you want to hear the audience, get the auds, also Mike/Fish can be felt with the right sound system

You guys are silly. SBD phish is key. Plus, if you are going to try to tell me that you can hear imperfections in a 256kbps MP3 of a SBD…im going to call you a liar. 256kbps is a serious sample rate, and most human ears can’t hear the digital noise much past 160 kbps. Now I can understand wanting FLAC or WAV of an audience recording, because the quality is already fragile, so an MP3 would be just awful, but 256kbps SBD MP3? come on…I could play the 256 MP3 then the FLAC of the same soundboard and I bet no one could tell the difference without looking…

of course if you want to hear the audience for some reason…then aud recordings are always the way to go…

^
I have absolutely no idea about anything you just said.

Just gimme my Phish, please.

Enjoy your clicks and 0.1 second gaps.

^I was simply stating that 256kbps MP3 (the bitrate of the ones from livephish is 256) are such high sample rate that it doesn’t matter that they’re MP3. No one can hear any difference in 256kbps MP3 and WAV as long as the sampled source is something clean like a SBD.

Headphones and computer speakers, that may be true.

^^I do agree it is difficult to get rid of gaps with MP3 unless you had a seamless MP3 of the entire show.

Wait so you’re saying that you can tell the difference with the right speakers?

A nice stereo makes ALL the difference.

::sizzle sizzle crack crack::

mr. miners no spoilers was teh awesome. i listened to 3-8 on the way to work with a huge smile on my face monday morning.

and i thought his AUD was the best one i heard. you can really hear the audience going crazy during fluffhead.
