Best Post Hiatus Jam

[color=green]i thought it might be cool for people to upload these to the thread via http://www.sendspace.com/ so folks can sample the list. i happened to have a few of these on my desktop (thanks to the post-hiatus project over at etree) so i’ll start things off.

2/22/03 Gin: http://www.sendspace.com/file/997vj5

2/28/03 Tweezer: http://www.sendspace.com/file/vozro3

[color=green]i’ll toss more on as i have time. it may be a bit before people start voting so i’ll bump the thread every now and then. enjoy.

NICE!

i’m going to have to study the list a little more at work before I make my decision.

actually, i just realized that the 7-29-03 “Crosseyed and Painless” isn’t on there

Set Two
Tube - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ypdtx1
BATHTUB GIN - http://www.sendspace.com/file/997vj5

went with the 8/12 SASS since out of the bunch this was the one I danced to live, plus it is a nice jam

crap… looks like a monster too… 25 minutes. well we can dub the “other” as crosseyed…

thanks for the upload will!

^
it’s all good…i voted for the “Gumbo.”

BUT I would have voted, no question, for the CE+P…gorgeous way to open the second set of a legendary show!

i voted for 6/20/04 twist. that entire second set should really be up there but this is prob the stand out song of the night. talk about funk. this truely was phish’s last stand and i was glad to have balcony seats for it!

honorable mentions:

2/22/03 Gin
2/26/03 Moma
2/28/03 Tweezer
7/13/03 Seven Below
6/19/04 Piper

6/23/04 Gin is what i voted for. just for the simple fact that i was gettin rocked by some chocolates and this gin sent me into a nasty spin, i sweated through two shirts before i finally snapped out of it when they started Ya Mar. it was the Gin jam that got me.

probably not the best overall, but it did a number on me, i’ll never forget it.

otherwise, i love the 2/28/03 Tweezer, 2/26/03 Moma/Maze/Stash, 2nd set 6/20/04, 12/31/03 Chalk->Slave->Chalk (it’s a fun one that’s not on here), 6/24/04 Antelope

here’s a nice copy of the 6.19.04 piper: http://www.sendspace.com/file/tc95vj

if anyone has a solid source of the twist from the next night i would love to hear it. listened to a crappy aud copy a while back and it didn’t grab me… but i think it was solely due to the quality.

edit: was thinking that maybe i should keep copying the sendspaces down with the new ones so people don’t have to hunt through… here’s the bunch:

2/22/03 Tube - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ypdtx1
2/22/03 Gin: http://www.sendspace.com/file/997vj5
2/28/03 Tweezer: http://www.sendspace.com/file/vozro3
6.19.04 Piper: http://www.sendspace.com/file/tc95vj

this is definitely a tough call…at first glance, for me it’s between some pretty standard choices, like 6/19 piper, 2/28 tweezer, IT ghost, Miami Free {actually not a standard PH choice, but it seems to take Free to another level…at least for me}

^that Gin is def pretty tasty too…haven’t heard since june 04 though…

i think i need to listen to many of these again, but i’m tempted just to go with 6/19 piper…

great poll regardless

guys, there is a hugely overlooked jam here. i didnt even realize i had it until last night, and listened to it.
7-15-03
Mr. Completely->Lowrider Jam->BBFCFM->Buried Alive->BBFCFM->Ha Ha Ha->BBFCFM->Mr. Completely

its amazing. im voting other, cuz it should be on the list.

^ You took the words right off my keyboard! That is THEEEEE best jam post hiatus and i will argue it til the death! All the other’s mentioned are great but the Utah MR. Madness takes the cake. i guees it helps that i was there along only 8500 or so other’s!

EDIT: I just voted for the SPAC Twist as it is my favorite on the list! I could have voted other but that still does not give the Completely jam credit! You also missed the Drowned from Spac as it is titties as well!

here’s teh crosseyed… it got left off the list but i happened to have it handy. someone mentioned that mr. completely earlier as i was pulling the list together… i just spaced on it.

2/22/03 Tube - http://www.sendspace.com/file/ypdtx1
2/22/03 Gin: http://www.sendspace.com/file/997vj5
2/28/03 Tweezer: http://www.sendspace.com/file/vozro3
6.19.04 Piper: http://www.sendspace.com/file/tc95vj
7.29.03 Crosseyed and Painless: http://www.sendspace.com/file/h8oqlq

I gotta vote for the 2/28/03 Tweezer. I fucking adore this Tweezer. The 6/20/04 Twist is right up there.
Doesn’t this thread help prove why post-hiatus was worth it?? There’s so many great jams here…

C&P 7/29/03!

Having listened to the 7/29 and 2/22 picks, I still have to say that the 2/28 Tweezer is my pick. However Willy B I will concede that this Tube > Bathtub Gin is the shit. Especially the Gin; I think that might be my favorite Gin ever (yes, even more than the Great Went!!).

I went with the 2/28 Tweezer, because it is something that I go back to over and over again and it is one of my favorites regardless of time period. I would still have made the same choice either way, but as stated before the 7/15 Mr. Completely has got to be on this list. It is really amazing and without a doubt would be my second choice.

There has been a reason I’ve been pumping this show since I signed onto this wonderful place.

I’m glad the sendspace is letting new ears hear it.

I picked the 2/28/03 tweezer… 7/25/03 Hood and the Alpine Valley YEM should be up there.
