Forbin’s->Mocking bird. I don’t regret much, but my choice to skip the 12/31/95 show is one of the biggest of my life. You see, my first show was 12/30/95. I was 16, and had been into Phish’s music for about a year, but was only familiar with the studio releases. I had no concept of what a live Phish show was, or about the jam scene in general. I assumed live Phish was like any other concert, just a rehash of studio stuff but in a live setting. So when my buddy and I saw phish was playing 2 shows at MSG (i grew up in central jersey) we decided one show would be enough, and that 12.30 was the better option (we were concerned that dealing with New York City on new years eve would be too crazy) Talk about having regrets. Not only was it the closest I came to seeing Forbin’s->Mockingbird, but, well…I really don’t have to explain what happened that night. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now but pick up the official release and smack myself repeatedly in the head while it plays.
absolutely destiny unbound
If I Could is one I think about alot…I really wish they would’ve played this post-hiatus
Tela is another one, and lizards for that matter, and sloth…fuck
ummm…esther, harpua of course, mound, manteca, undermind, train song, dinner and a movie–any of those would realy make me happy
One song I’m really glad I saw (since it was the first time played since 98) was weigh in miami
that’s my jam
i just realized that i never saw some of the most popular songs in Phishtory (YEM, MIKE’S GROOVE, REBA, GHOST, SUZY, BAG)
^but you probably saw some other great stuff
^
tell me about it. I would kill for just 1 “Mike’s Groove” or “Ghost” (even if it is post-hiatus).
7/22/03 and 7/29/03, as well as 7/11/00!
Divided Sky (because that’s the luck i have)
The Lizards
Forbin>Mocingbird
GOLGI
you never got your/our namesake??? that’s rough man…i feel for ya.
(speaking of, should i change my name on here?? might have to)
for me, i’d say Fluffhead is probably the only “must have” song that i never saw live. Icculus being a close second.
“There’s a lot of special stuff in that book”
I myself didn’t get a chance to hear this beauty but sure wish I did. I get a good laugh every time I hear this on disc. What a song… I would have also loved to hear papyrus but that wasn’t in the cards either.
Some songs I never got to see. :’(

It’s Ice is amazing!! I only saw 1 show, so I could go on for a long time listing songs I’d want to hear… don’t worry, I won’t. It’s Ice is pretty underrated, I’m guessing because its not much of a jam song, I dunno, great song though!
IT WAS KILLER!!!
Time Loves A Hero
Destiny Unbound
And as a side-note: Vida Blue playing Subterranian Homesick Alien and Sheep.
The first time Phish played Shafty on the Island Tour within the first three notes I turned to a friend and said, "This is that Radiohead tune off of ‘OK Computer’ ", and I was way wrong. Then years later Page busts out that very same tune and when I got the discs’ I laughed like a little girl…not really but you get my point.
I regret never getting to hear Birds of a Feather. Damn.
“Best” is subjective, but I would have to say “You Enjoy Myself.”
I was very fortunate to see almost every song that I wanted to hear. I saw all the old stuff starting in 91’ but I never got to see a “Fuck Your Face” and I would have liked that.
i’d like to add the obvious Fluffhead along with a Sanity, Maze, Fee, Billy Breathes, Waste, Horse>Silent, Harpua, ACDC(i was getting pizza and water on the other side of the hill at Coventry) and i have never heard, not even on disc Destiny Unbound and i feel like i’m missing out.
Fee, Tela
I can’t really complain, I got just about everything I could hope for seeing 27 shows from late '97 on. I got some bustouts, rarities, plenty of great ‘heavy hitters’ and even some one-timers.
I was fortunate enough to get a couple of rarities, but I also got HOSED on some real heavy-hitters.
“Ghost”
“Mike’s Groove”
“Reba”
“You Enjoy Myself”
“Twist”
“Runaway Jim”
“Wolfman’s Brother”
