Big Cypress

I don’t think I have many pictures that show the grounds, though I tried to do a multi shot panorama from the roof of our van. I remember the camp ground to be mostly grassland, with outcrops of trees, though overall, not a whole lot of shade. Traffic was a mess due to there being one road in. I wonder if they had the option to change that.

I remember the weird swamp fog that lingered like 8 feet in the air, looked like little clouds hovering.

anyone remember that?

drugs maybe?

no.

it was there.

and sorry, my camera was stolen/lost throughout the weekend somewhere.
prolly lost.

Unless you provide a photograph as proof that you were there, I don’t believe you Brett.

Just kidding.

You were probably at MG’s Bar Mitzvah.

I remember hearing stories of this during the late set on 12/30/99…apparently the fog looked like a huge dragon during Mike’s Song, according to my fellow campmates. Of course I wasn’t there since I wasn’t AWAKE due to staying up in LINE the entire night before…ARRGGGHH…

Seriously, is there really that much to Big Cypress? I just remember a bunch of big fields and various trees and wooded areas around it. Even better, the only police are just various Seminoles on horseback…and you’d basically have to kill someone to get arrested. Good times, happy vibe.

Stevo

There is the Tree of Life in the middle of the field. You can’t miss it.
Be sure you stand under that, very strong energy.
It has to be hundreds of years old.

Other then that, there is the place that my crew called Dagobah (Yoda’s home).
The little wooded, swamp like area that had the crazy drum circles and boardwalk.
They will most likely do something with that area, be sure to check that out.

Be sure you don’t burn any wood or start campfires.
Trees and wood are sacred to the Seminoles.

Yes. Very eerie. The mist.
The dew that developed from that was crazy.
Be sure you don’t leave anything out at your camp because it can ruin any paper or electronic device.
My disposable camera was destroyed.

i don’t think i’ve ever been to Big Cypress before. i may have when i was a lot younger and i just don’t recall.

i live only 30 minutes north of the everglades so i go a lot when i get the chance. it’s an amazing place.

what do u mean u DONT think u been there.either you have or you havent…theres only been one concert held there and langerado is the 2nd to hold anything there.so did u go to phish’s big cypress?

It is possible to go there when there is no concert…

I think.

sure you can. It’s an enormous nature preserve, it takes up like half of Florida.

what are you gonna see there?Indians and cattle. i dont think they do tours on a daily basis either. ;Dlol to funny

Who needs a tour?

Just go wander.

can you when nothing is going on there?i m sure they dont just let you wander.would they?im gonna check into it to see.

http://www.nps.gov/bicy/

this all i could find

but i dont think its the same place

^Judging from that map, it is this same place. The entrance to NYE’99 was along Snake Road, on the very right side of the map. Depending on where he went, it is possible to have been to Big Cypress without a concert crowd.

Qc, you’re an idiot.

well thank you ,like i havent ever heard that one befor. its a shame ,as smart as you are thats all you came up with.

sweet fight.
